KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Only Russia is responsible for the war in Ukraine, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Sunday as he vowed to press ahead with strikes on Russian oil refineries, despite criticism from U.S. President Donald Trump, who blamed him for high diesel prices and said he should be replaced.
The exchange came as Kyiv pressed its campaign against infrastructure deep inside Russia, with a drone attack on Sunday shutting down a data center run by Russian technology giant Yandex, the third strike on the company’s facilities in four days. Russia and Ukraine are locked in a long-range aerial war while their armies remain largely deadlocked on the front line, more than 4 1/2 years since Moscow’s full-scale invasion.
“Ukraine will be ready to stop striking Russian oil refineries if Russia stops striking our energy infrastructure,” Zelenskyy wrote on X.
“It is possible to stop strikes on energy infrastructure as early as today, but (Russian President Vladimir) Putin does not want to do so,” he said, adding that any de-escalation must be reciprocal and backed by real guarantees.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha pushed back on Trump's comments, writing on X late Saturday that Zelenskyy was leading the country through a war for its independence. “He has the support of the Ukrainian people, and they have the right to decide. Statements from abroad only confirm that he is doing his job well,” Sybiha wrote.
Trump said Saturday it was time for Ukraine to get a new president, suggesting Zelenskyy has not done enough to end the war and blaming him for high diesel prices in the U.S.
“I suggest they get a new leader who can make a deal because he could have made many deals and for some reason he never does,” Trump said.
The U.S. president, who on Friday struck a deal with Russian President Vladimir Putin to buy diesel from Russia in an attempt to address high fuel prices ahead of the U.S. midterm elections, has been urging Zelenskyy for weeks to stop strikes on Russian energy infrastructure.
He has sought to blame record U.S. diesel prices on Ukraine rather than the U.S.-led war in Iran, which has driven up world energy prices. Ukrainian and European officials reacted to the diesel deal with dismay, saying it will help pay for Russia’s war effort. Ukraine strikes third data center in four days
The Ukrainian drone attack on the Yandex data center in the city of Vladimir, east of Moscow, caused outages across the company's services, leaving users in dozens of Russian cities and in Kazakhstan, Belarus and Armenia unable to order taxis or access banking services, according to Russian independent news outlet Astra.

Only grey poupon.
agree
I’m with Z man on this one. Russia must be destroyed in every manner possible until it removes all military personnel and civilians from all occupied territory, including Crimea. President Trump should not interfere with Ukraine’s military strategy. Besides, what happened in Iran is much more responsible for the current high prices.
“Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis for GasBuddy, which tracks U.S. gasoline prices, estimated that 60% to 65% of the recent diesel price spike stems from Ukrainian attacks on Russian facilities, with the remainder caused by Iran’s efforts to choke off transit through the Strait of Hormuz and other vital transit points.”

We should be doing the same to Iran. Take out Kharg island.
I would rather Putin be taken out than Russia destroyed. Informed Russians don’t want any of this.
Cut off the funding, NOW! Sure they may sue, but let them get tied up in our court system. Call every Ukraine public official to testify in person! Announce when they will be coming and how!
Volodymyr Zelenskyy could enc this war in less than a week’s time if he would but surrender and resign from office, going into exile if he must. He has not served Ukraine well by continually shifting the demands he presents to the Russian Federation and to the European Union.
The Ukrainian people are a sturdy lot, tougher than old leather, but even they must weary of the intransigence of Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who has passed on numerous attempts at reconciliation with the Russians.
Move the bowels, or get off the pot.
And yet the most obvious and best target of all sits undisturbed all these years, the Crimea bridge.
So you're so dumb you think Putin was bluffing when he said Russia, the country with more nuclear weapons than any other country on Earth, would defend themselves in "every manner possible?"
You nuclear-war groupies are going to get us all killed.
Even the Ukie population is calling for St Z’s removal, best to look beyond western MSM for your “ news”. The last few Ukie clips ( not found on western MSM) show thousands of Babushka’s calling St Z “ the green Satan”.
The Babushkas are tired of the roving press gangs ( mentioned), the government not paying out death insurance( mentioned), the government hiding the war dead figures ( mentioned), the huge cemeteries all over Ukraine ( mentioned), and on and on.
The “ green Satan’s “ days are coming to an end....and it is not just President Trump’s call, but the Ukie mothers and grandmothers.
“the intransigence of Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who has passed on numerous attempts at reconciliation with the Russians.”
There’s no money in reconciliation.
The Green Goblin - Volodymoort.
Those "occupied areas" you mention are majority-Russian (80% in Crimea for example) and strongly favored joining Russia, especially as neo-Nazi Banderite terrorist activity ramped up with NATO support after 2014. Good to know you hate self-determination and representative government in your support of Western autocrats!
Only Crimea has a majority Russian population. Luhansk and Donetsk are 60% Ukrainian, Zaporizhzhia is 70% Ukrainian, and Kherson 82% Ukrainian. Stop believing Russian lies.
