The advertised curriculum includes nonviolent direct action and “OPSEC & Security Culture”—training on protecting organizers and sensitive information. Other sessions cover de-escalation, protest rights, police encounters and arrest.
The invitation explicitly includes ICE Breakers organizers, students and people who have never organized before. Its closing pitch:
“Learn the tools. Build the strategy. Practice the resistance.”
The fictional hotel exercise mirrors the pressure GAIA proposes applying to real businesses. Its website states the intended endpoint:
“disrupt their operations until they cut ties.”

It should be a crime to pay for protesters.
AT MINIMUM they should be REQUIRED to show paperwork that they are being paid, and carry signs saying “paid for by...” like they have to for political ads on TV and Radio.
Come to think of it... why can’t they use that law to force it? It is a paid political promotion after all.

I agree with Mr. K. Great idea. Paid protesters are not engaged in private or personal speech. They should be required to disclose payments just like other paid political ads.

I had no idea the pay check rings in at $36 an hour.
That works out to $75,000 a year putting in a 40 hour week!
