The French Education Ministry said classes were totally or partially suspended at 891 schools after widespread damage occurred to schools and mounting injuries among staff, students and police.
French Education Ministry suspended classes at nearly 900 schools nationwide Tuesday amid an increase in rioting over the country's school system and a lack of air conditioning in classrooms.
The demonstrations in Paris have devolved into confrontations with law enforcement, and video footage has shown rioters clashing with police, who have deployed tear gas.
Protests in Strasbourg, Lyon and Rennes have also turned violent at times, with demonstrators lighting fires and hurling projectiles at police, according to NBC News.
The French Education Ministry said classes were totally or partially suspended at 891 schools after widespread damage occurred to schools and mounting injuries among staff, students and police. Some cancelations began last week in hopes of defusing tension.
The cancelations were a culmination of several weeks of protests that started with the school year. Boycotts have resulted in more than 6,100 arrests and more than 700 police officers and 215 teenagers have been injured in the clashes. More than 1,800 people are being prosecuted, including 1,483 minors, the French Justice Ministry said.
Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu has called on his ministers to review the students’ leading demands, including ensuring absent teachers are replaced, reviewing the length of the 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. school day and the need for longer lunch breaks.
Recommendations for addressing the issues are due by the end of the month.
President Donald Trump believes the rioting goes well beyond issues affecting students. "What’s happening in France is nothing less than out of control mass migration. This isn’t about schools, this is about Islam wanting to take over a once great Country!" he posted on Truth Social.

Correct. However, there is no political will to do so. I suspect Arab money is behind this, but it can’t be just one source. There is some kind of coalition among powerful forces to push mass migration, and socialism.

It would be interesting to know what the ethic makeup of the protestors is composed of. Would it be 5th Generation French people whose parents fought in World War II, or is it citizens mostly from Northern Africa.
