In a huge scandal that’s destined to be ignored by the mainstream press, allegations have emerged that former special prosecutor Jack Smith’s team wiretapped and monitored not only President Donald Trump’s then-campaign adviser Susie Wiles in 2023, but also his lawyers as well.
Citing newly declassified FBI records, Just The News reported on Monday that Smith’s team used a pen register/trap-and-trace (PR/TT) device on Wiles’ phone that allowed them to see who she called, who called her, when the calls happened, how long the calls lasted, and their metadata.

Any bets on whether any FBI agent is going to get fired? Go to jail? Whether there are going to be fundamental changes to how the FBI operates? Trump is in office and Kash Patel is in charge of the FBI but we still don’t see consequences for shockingly illegal activity by the FBI. I’m tired of the talk and press releases and posturing for the cameras. I’m tired of the GOP hauling the usual “villains” before some committee to yell at them for the camera. It just pisses me off because I know absolutely nothing else is going to happen other than GOP Senators are going to compete to get the most amusing or outraged soundbite for the news.

Former Special Counsel Jack Smith personally approved the subpoenas targeting the telephone toll records of co-conspirators and certain members of Congress to verify lines of communication.
• Department of Justice Consultation: The subpoenas were reviewed and approved by the Justice Department’s Public Integrity Section.
• Non-Disclosure Approval: Chief Judge James Boasberg signed the accompanying non-disclosure (gag) orders requiring telecom companies to keep the subpoenas confidential. However, in accordance with DOJ policy.
Specific members of Congress to be monitored were not disclosed to the judge at the time.
