Hundreds of people are currently under medical observation after a laboratory worker died from an "unspecified form of plague" in Russia.
Health authorities in Siberia’s Irkutsk region said nearly 200 people are under medical observation, according to media reports and a statement by a regional leader on Friday. The Moscow Times said that Alexei Tsydenov, head of the neighbouring republic of Buryatia, confirmed that the woman had died from an unspecified form of plague.
Tsydenov, however, said “there are no plague outbreaks in the republic, including in areas bordering Mongolia”. Russian media outlets have identified the woman as Daria Sh., a 27- or 28-year-old employee of the Irkutsk anti-plague institute.
Reports said that the woman told medical staff that she had accidentally broken a test tube containing live bacteria while collecting samples for testing. She was hospitalised on Tuesday with symptoms of severe pneumonia. She was then placed on a ventilator and died on Thursday, according to the reports.
The Shelekhov district hospital was placed under quarantine. The Moscow Times also reported that at least 197 people were isolating. Public events have been cancelled in Irkutsk, and an investigation was launched, the newspaper also said.
The governor for the Irkutsk region, Igor Kobzev, said: “All identified contact persons have been placed under medical observation. As of today, the contacts show no signs of illness, and their laboratory test results are negative.”

Putting on my Cynical Fedora: Maybe things are going badly for Putin and a pandemic scare is being trotted out as the excuse needed for repressive/suppressive measures he wants to take. It may also be to forestall any action that may directed at his regime by outside actors.
The black plague is caused by Yersinia Pestis-a bacterium.
Covid is a virus.
Unlike with a virus, you can kill the plague bacterium with antibiotics.
Even if it’s a bioengineered bacterium, ABX will kill the suckers if you’re treated soon enough.
I have it on good authority that 6-ft spacing will protect everyone.
If that is true then why would they not have immediately treated her. And why is she dead today. And why is there no mention of treating those exposed with anti-bionics.

I suspect that all major powers today, US, Russia and China are involved in bio weapon development, behind a veil of bureaucratic lies of course since we technically signed treaties which ban this AND the public would frown on this.

I would not doubt if one day we find out that Wuhan was such a case as well.
Some of the advances in bio tech, made possible through genetic engineering make what was considered scifi in the 80s reality today. The “opportunities” today in a military sense are huge. Disease like the plague, anthrax, small pox, were already on the radar for weaponization a long time ago.
Russia, plague like disease, in the middle of nowhere doing research... Very suspicious.
It will be fun to hear what Alex Jones, Tucker Carlson, Candace Owens, and Colonel MacGregor have to say about it.

The antibiotics work if the patient is treated immediately. From what I read, it took a while to treat her. Also, who knows what type of lab “accident” actually occurred-it’s Russia.
