Two weeks ago, students in the impoverished Seine-Saint-Denis area of northern Paris decided they were fed up with the conditions they had to endure to get an education in France.
The buildings were dilapidated and infested with rats and roaches. The kids had to share textbooks because there weren't enough to go around. There weren't enough chairs for kids to sit.
There also weren't enough teachers or support staff. The bathrooms were appalling. And school hours were excruciatingly long.
Some readers on this site and others think it matters that the kids complaining are Muslim or immigrants. I don't know what color they are, what their religion is, or whether they're left-wing, right-wing, or wingless. The French government is failing these kids in the most fundamental way: it isn't preparing them to be productive citizens of the republic.
Violence isn't the answer, of course. But many indications suggest these protests became violent only when outside agitators, including professional radical left activists, hijacked the energy of the student protest movement and bent it toward their own ends.
“Shared assessment by the intelligence services on the origin of the movement: an operation organised by LFI (France Unbowed) and its proxies on the far left,” the readout from a crisis meeting of the French cabinet stated.
In fact, LFI deputies and personalities have been showing up at these protests, egging the students on. There's no evidence they're actually urging violent acts, but what the hell else are they doing there? When you consider that violent demonstrations discredit the government of President Emanuel Macron six months from the presidential election, and the LFI candidate, Jean-Luc Mélenchon, is surging in the polls, the violent unrest plays directly into the hands of the radical left and no one else.

Did the new illegal immigrants overload the system? And then they complain? I could be wrong.

The 1970 Ohio National Guard can solve your student riots problem.
“We want better schools! What do we do?”
“I know! Let’s set them on fire!”
Now you have fewer schools instead of just crappy schools. Way to go.
In a healthy society the response would be to hand them brooms and mops and point out that they can clean the bathrooms, and encourage them to fund bake sales and fundraisers to raise money for textbooks. Instead they just riot and break things and demand to be given free stuff. They do not have a healthy society.
Rick Moran seems naive.
The rioters are not “radical Left.”
They are garden-variety Mooslims.
No matter the location, when “students” are protesting, we pretty much know which side they are on.
I should add that as a youth many years ago I walked into a multipurpose room at a church after Bible study, and found an elderly man and his stooped-over wife quietly sweeping and cleaning tables. And I knew the man had been CEO of a major auto supplier with many thousands of workers under him. The were old enough they could have rightly left the tasks to someone younger, and they weren’t doing it with expectation that anyone would notice. And I’ve never forgotten their example.
And unlike 1968, this time there’s no de Gaulle to crush it.

Probably learned it from seeing the subtitled Spike Lee Do The Right Thing.
Korean immigrant, his only defensive “weapon” a broom, tries to say an Asian and a black can unite as not being white.

Isn’t the surge of migrants across the borders unchecked for years now worth at least a mention in a “right leaning “ source? Really, a flood of likely non-French speaking kids and their ever-fertile mamas , hasn’t overwhelmed the housing and school capacities there as it has here( though I doubt they’re spending $50 k/ pupil as we are , with very similar descriptions of the school status)? In fact, since it’s the employers who supposedly want the open borders, it makes me think that at the least we should go to large workplaces here, determine # of illegals, and assess the employers proportionately for school taxes and other infrastructure upgrades required to handle a generational surge of population.
Willful blindness will not help you. Perhaps you should pull your head out of your butt, look around and ask a few questions.
Increasing school funding is not what they want nor will it satiate their rage. Lib-tards think throwing other peoples money at every problem will fix things.

They were more honest 20 years ago before they allowed it to progress
“YOUNG men have rioted in the suburbs of Paris for the ninth day in a row, setting on fire cars and shops and raising questions about why France has failed to integrate a generation of young, mostly Muslim, immigrants.
As a thousand police concentrated yesterday on the largely north African area of Seine-Saint-Denis in the city’s north, where most attacks are taking place, the Government came under growing criticism for its inability to end the violence.
As on previous nights, gangs of youths armed with bricks and sticks roamed the streets of high-rise housing estates, torched buses and hurled rocks at trains.”
What do you mean we, Paleface? America’s and Europe’s fake news media calls them student protests. The rest of us know it’s islamo-communists.
Agreed.
That’s the truth.
Yep.
