US President Donald Trump said he regretted nominating three Supreme Court justices — Neil Gorsuch, Amy Coney Barrett and Brett Kavanaugh — who have opposed him in recent rulings, according to a Time Magazine interview.
The Republican president was asked about his recent comments regarding the three conservative justices in the interview, which was conducted on Monday.
"Do you regret nominating them?" the interviewer asked, referring to Trump's comments in a recent Truth Social post.
"Yeah. Yeah," Trump responded, according to a transcript of the interview.
"What can I do? I put them in. They voted against me too often. I was very — I gave them the position of a lifetime, and they vote against me often."
Trump appointed Gorsuch, Kavanaugh and Barrett during his first term as president, building a 6-3 conservative majority and allowing the court to steer a dramatic rightward course since 2020.
"I do like loyalty, yeah," Trump told the interviewer, who then asked whether that was what he wanted from the justices.
"No, I don't want loyalty. I want good decisions," Trump said.
After the top US judicial body declined to allow a Postal Service rule restricting the use of mail-in ballots in the November midterm elections, Trump said his appointees were behaving differently than they had during interviews.

Buyer’s remorse.
Instead relying on his backstabbers to pick the people for him, he should let his voters submit a list.
Operation Warp Speed and his Supreme Court appointments are the only real achievements of his first term, and he’s too dense to see it.
He should have asked Mark Levin. No one knows more about every individual judicial decisions like Mark.
Wouldn’t have helped. They looked good but they were turncoats.
To be honest, this sounds a bit too self-centered. The issue shouldn't be whether or not they voted against Trump, but whether or not they voted for or against moral, conservative issues. It is likely the same thing in most cases, but it stills seems like a much too narcissistic statement. It is about more than Trump. Having someone who votes for conservative issues even after Trump leaves office should have been the priority.
It is not the job of Supreme Court justices to rubber stamp every case brought before them by whichever administration appointed them. Maybe Trump forgets that.
In the long run Trump grousing about not liking when the SCOTUS does not rule as he wishes just opens the door to arguments in favor of packing the court.
He damn well should
I’d like to know which of his advisers recommended them.
Well, we sure see how all of Obama and Biden’s picks stick to the democrat plantation don’t we? Is it too much too to expect Trump’s picks to at least uphold conservative values? The values upon which they were selected?
But it’s OK when a POS like Jumanji Brown Jacksome kneejerk votes for liberal crap.
Be nice to get some “kneejerk” conservative votes out of our appointees, instead of Greenhouse Gas BS.

Great idea! Then NONE of his nominated Justices would ever be confirmed by the Senate.
> To be honest, this sounds a bit too self-centered...
What?!? President Donald J. Trump... "self-centered"?!? Say it isn't so!! /s
Seriously, every president has expressed some amount of disappointment in some of their appointments. "Right" SCOTUS appointments in particular are notorious for drifting left over time. And the ones that started on the left go off the rails.
He’s also talking through his hat. They have hardly ruled against him “too often” as he claims.
I think in the case of these justices, it’s like they are purposely voting against Trump at behest of the left. Turning out obviously Bad decisions just to keep from getting hated by Democrats

Somebody who knows what nominees can actually be confirmed by the Senate, and aren’t just sacrificial lambs with no hope of confirmation.
The three he is grousing on are in no way along the same lines as Jackson. She is an idiot.
The Supreme Court has certainly supported the administration on issues which could be termed Conservative, though not always. The ones Trump appointed have a lot more respect for the Constitution than the Liberal justices do.

Good point. The Supreme Court has ruled in Trump’s favor in many more cases than not.
Demanding “loyalty” from a member of an entirely separate branch of the government is the stuff of a dictator.
I basically give Trump a pass here. He knew nothing about justices and DURING the election he said, I’ll pick from a list. The Social Conservatives didn’t trust Trump and he used that to build a coalition. Everyone got exactly what they BEGGED for. Ok, he’s the President. I don’t really give him a pass but he was pretty open that he’ll pick from a list of their choosing. The ONLY thing anyone cared about in 2016 was overturning roe v wade. They always said, “You can’t asked them how’d they rule” and he said he never did. I think and I hope now Trump would tell them all to pound sand and he should ask anything he bloody well pleases. It would be really interesting to see who he would pick now if given a chance. I hope it would be a Hegsethesque pick (Meaning not pre approved and vetted by fools). Finally, I think Trump should sign any bill about stacking the courts. Republicans, if they were tough, would pass that bill right now and stack the court with Stephen Miller types.
