Dario Amodei’s Anthropic is telling would-be investors that the very technology it’s asking them to fund could pose a “catastrophic or existential risk to humanity.” Wall Street is calling Anthropic’s IPO a prospectus a “head scratcher” due to its doomer language.
CNBC reports that the warning appears in Anthropic’s IPO prospectus as the startup heads towards its initial public offering on the stock maret. Breitbart News previously reported that Anthropic is pursuing a $2 trillion valuation in the offering.
Anthropic devoted more than a third of the 261-page filing, about 80 pages, to potential AI risks. Only 48 pages cover the company’s actual business. The filing goes beyond the existential-risk language too, describing possible “self-preserving behaviors” in AI systems, including efforts to “resist shutdown,” “conceal or manipulate information,” or take actions “resembling blackmail.”

1. Quit working on it if you're that skerred.
2. Develop a safe guard to the possibility of raging electrons.
Sounds like a Michael Crichton novel.... oh, wait...
Oppenheimer apparently thought that there was a chance that an atomic explosion might ignite the atmosphere and kill all life on the planet. But he calculated that the odds were pretty low.
This is stupid. Companies must disclose all potential risks. It is not saying there IS a risk.
The fear that somehow AI will go rogue and kill humans is just Hollywood sci-fi nonsense designed to scare people and sell movies. The risk is not that AI will kill us; it’s that human labor will be so devalued that people will lose any sense of meaning in their lives and descend into nihilism and hedonistic suicide in slow motion, like drugs, sex, and alcohol.
The people who can find meaning in learning, loving, religion, families, and creative activities like art and music will thrive in a labor-free utopia.
If Antrropic was building defective toasters (instead of defective SI) - toasters that could burn down homes - their job would be to fix their toasters, NOT to tell every other toaster company to slow down.

The company should close up shop if AI is as bad as they say but nope gotta make them billions and annoy all the people that have data centers built next to their neighborhoods and raise the electric rates and the noise and lights.
You should not buy the two IPO’s.
Anthropic lost $42 billion.... That is way more then SpaceXAI lost $6.36 billion from operations in 2025 on $3.2 billion in revenue. The company’s losses have continued to accelerate, with the AI division recording an additional $2.47 billion operating loss in the first quarter of 2026.
OpenAI reported a total net loss of $38.53 billion for the full year of 2025. This represents a massive spike from its $5.09 billion net loss recorded in 2024.
