A New York Times tech executive who was allegedly shot dead by his elderly in-laws in California was in a vicious war with them and his estranged wife for being transgender, according to court documents.

Jonathan McKinsey’s wife, Candice Jang, filed for a restraining order against him in 2025, and he replied by filing a restraining order of his own.

In what maybe the craziest story of the year , the NY Times employee married as a woman in a lesbian marriage but transitioned years later. So technically she wasn't the biological father. Who knows who the real father is. Now engaged in a custody battle with the mother, I'm guessing the grandparents were afraid the tranny could get partial unsupervised custody of their grandchildren so they brought out the guns.

And now the rest of the story comes out. Saw this headline earlier of Asian in-laws unloading their guns on the guy with no other details. We were all trying to figure out what would cause a couple in their 70s to do this. Now it adds up.
