Counter-terror police are leading an investigation in which five men were arrested on suspicion of explosives offences and preparation of a terrorist act near an RAF base which hosts the United States Air Force (USAF).
The men were detained after police received a report of "three suspicious vehicles" travelling towards RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire at about 00:45 BST on Sunday, officers said.
A major incident was declared and an Army explosive ordnance disposal team has been examining vehicles near the base.
Eighty-five households in the nearby village of Whelford have been evacuated while investigations continue. Officials believe the incident is contained. Live updates on this story
A Hazardous Area Response Team has been deployed inside a security cordon at the base.

The real story here is the counter-terror team is processing a group of terrorists _before_ the act.

Yes. And pulled over because they were driving “suspicious vehicles.” Rather curious. In the USA these days, that’s a good way to get a case tossed.
I think main road gates into any base should be backed up with a tank plus mobile 20mm armed vehicles. Try to get passed the armed guards and get vaporized, o second chances.

Being the UK, it’s a wonder she wasn’t arrested and charged with profiling or some other hate “crime”.
Would love to see and hear from the farmer, but I hope they don’t publicly release her image or anything else about her.
