Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is scheduled to address the annual gathering of world leaders on Wednesday.
The Trump administration has agreed to let Iran’s leaders attend next week’s high-level United Nations meetings in New York, even as the two countries remain at war.
“Consistent with our host country obligations, the core delegation from the Iranian regime will be able to attend UN General Assembly High Level Week,” the State Department said in a statement.
The granting of travel documents to the Iranian delegation means that its members will be able to attend the United Nations General Assembly, which begins Tuesday.

While previous administrations have largely granted visas for world leaders to attend the high-level meetings, the Trump administration last year announced that it was denying or revoking visas for members of the Palestinian Authority and the Palestine Liberation Organization.
The State Department said this week that it would block the Palestinians’ travel again this year, citing alleged support for terrorism. Employees from the Palestinian mission to the United Nations, which holds observer status, are exempted from the U.S. policy.
Officials from Iran, which was designated a state sponsor of terrorism, have sometimes been blocked from receiving visas in the past.
Since February, the United States and Iran have been locked in a conflict that began when the Trump administration joined Israel in a military campaign that killed much of Iran’s senior leadership, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

So what?
What would be the point of denying them entry?
Don’t let them fly their own planes here.
“Keep your friends close and your enemies even closer”
I would let them attend. I would not let them leave.
Trump is making every attempt to seem reasonable. There may be an opportunity to talk quietly and off the record. My impression is the government officials of Iran desperately want peace. It’s the religious military, the IRGC, that doesn’t want it. The IRGC runs every aspect of the Iranian economy. All the projects go to IRGC owned and run companies. It’s the same model of corruption as done in Egypt where the military runs all the big projects and companies.
The actual government has no real power. I’ll bet Trump is trying to maneuver the government into facilitating the fall of the IRGC by using the non-religious military. If he does, it will be a literal coup.
Put all of the Sunnis and Shi-ites in one small room. Lock the door, and let the Shi-ite hit the fan.
“Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian”
Is he the gay one?
He has the opportunity to do the most epic move of all time.
Roach hotel check in but they don’t check out
It would be pretty funny if one or more of the Iranian government officials uses the opportunity to be out of Iran to defect and denounce the IRGC.
the west is incapable of taking even the smallest of actions in its own defense
No that is the son of the late Supreme Leader (may he rest in pieces). He is a sock puppet for the IRGC and is either dead or in a coma.

LMAO...they also refused to allow PLO dictator Abbas to come.
