A would-be thief got more than he bargained for recently, when an alert gas station customer in Chicago with a concealed carry permit pulled out a gun and shot him.
After the shooting, the thief hobbled away from the scene as quickly as possible.
There would probably be a lot less crime if aspiring criminals were made to watch incidents like this one.

Had I seen a masked man dressed in black approaching me in that situation I would have moved to the other side of my car, behind the engine block, and unholstered immediately.
Note to self- before committing armed robberies, invest in a belt and proper-fitting pants.
This is the only mechanism that will deter crime. Coppers cannot get there in time, and do not have any legal responsibility to protect you.
Too bag frangible ammo is so expensive. Would allow self defense without the worry that a missed shot will enter a nearby house.
