Getting rid of 3rd world illegals helped with crime reduction I suspect.

Honestly confused — is carjacking a federal crime? Do we expect the FBI to be involved in these?

Rather than $5,000 dollars to each person from a nation heavily in debt, why doesn’t Trump highlight what has been accomplished?

Does he come up with these bad ideas on his own? Or does he have bad advisors?

Grok:

Yes, carjacking is a federal crime under 18 U.S.C. § 2119, in addition to typically being a state crime (often charged as a form of robbery or a specific carjacking statute).

fbi.gov

The federal statute makes it a crime to take (or attempt to take) a motor vehicle that has been transported, shipped, or received in interstate or foreign commerce from the person or presence of another, by force and violence or by intimidation, with the intent to cause death or serious bodily harm. The interstate commerce element is usually easy to meet because nearly all vehicles cross state lines at some point (e.g., from manufacturer to dealer). The specific intent element (intent to cause death or serious bodily harm) is a key requirement that distinguishes the federal offense and can sometimes make state charges preferable if it's harder to prove.

congress.gov

Penalties under the federal law are significant:Up to 15 years if no serious injury results.
Up to 25 years if serious bodily injury results.
Up to life imprisonment (or the death penalty in cases where death results).

criminaldefenselawyer.com

Most routine carjackings are handled primarily by state and local police and prosecutors as state offenses. The FBI (and federal prosecutors) get involved selectively—often in cases that are particularly violent, involve injury or death, span multiple jurisdictions, connect to gangs/organized crime, involve firearms enhancements, or form part of a pattern or series that benefits from federal resources and longer potential sentences. The FBI treats carjacking as a violent crime (distinct from ordinary motor vehicle theft, which is a property crime) and collaborates with state/local partners through task forces, joint investigations, and technology/resources.

fbi.gov

Examples of federal involvement include multi-jurisdictional spree cases, gang-related series, or high-profile incidents; the Justice Department has also launched targeted carjacking task forces in certain areas that include the FBI and other federal agencies working with locals. In short: carjacking can and sometimes does trigger federal charges and FBI involvement, but it is not automatic for every incident—local authorities handle the majority, with federal resources used as a force multiplier when the facts and priorities justify it.

“why doesn't Trump highlight what has been accomplished?”

He does that all the time.
Obviously you didn't listen to his speech in full at the GOP Convention. It was full of his achievements including sharply falling crime, murder rates, sharply reduced illegal immigration etc etc.
Listen to it. Link was posted here.

And the Democrats are losing votes from blacks especially young black men. Trump made it possible for them to leave the plantation.

Any politician knows that his comments need to be short so that the important message gets out.

$5,000 was a loser line that should have never been said and was obviously going to overshadow anything else that was said.

“Any politician knows that his comments need to be short so that the important message gets out.”

Yeah?
So why do the most successful politicians regularly make long speeches?
The GOP Convention was a massive success.

Those who attended the convention are already convinced.

The message the press sends to the unconvinced is the message that should be the focus. Give the press 4 points to cover...or 40.... the press will cherry pick which points to cover...which points can be taken out of context.

When the message is short and makes the points that you want t unconvinced to hear...then it is a good message.

From what I have seen Bessent made the best speech at the convention...a speech for the unconvinced...not a speech for the convinced.

“Those who attended the convention are already convinced.”

Except almost all the people who watched the GOP convention/speeches watched it on TV/X/YouTube etc.
Most loved it.

“The message the press sends to the unconvinced is the message that should be the focus. Give the press 4 points to cover...or 40.... the press will cherry pick which points to cover...which points can be taken out of context.”

How relevant is the press in the days of X/YouTube etc?
Not much.
This is not the 1980’s anymore when legacy media got away with regular lies because they controlled how voters got the news. They don't anymore, unfortunately for Democrats.
