Iran is producing ballistic missiles again
The Hill ^ | 09/10/26 | Ryan Mancini

Iran has resumed production of ballistic missiles, The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday, contradicting the Trump administration’s claims that Tehran’s military capabilities have been destroyed in the months-long conflict with the U.S.

Iran has assembled new missiles using existing components in more limited quantities than before the war in several underground sites, including the Khojir missile facility in southeastern Iran, U.S. and Middle Eastern officials told the Journal. The regime is also working on new underground assembly sites to avoid renewed American attacks.

The U.S. and Israel have damaged several of Iran’s industrial facilities, and the U.S. naval blockade has prevented parts and ingredients for fuel from being imported. One U.S. official told the outlet that Iran likely resumed production after it and the U.S. signed an interim peace deal to end the war in June.

Tal Inbar, a senior analyst at the U.S.-based Missile Defense Advocacy Alliance, told the Journal that Iran likely still has thousands of ballistic missiles.

A White House official told The Hill that the U.S. “is watching Iran and has eyes on their every move,” repeating the president’s past remarks that U.S. strikes have eliminated Iran’s industrial facilities, navy, air defenses and nuclear facilities.

“Iran is weaker now than ever before, and President Trump will never allow Iran to have a nuclear weapon,” the official said.

The Hill has also reached out to the Defense and State departments for comment.

Defense Department spokesperson Sean Parnell told the Journal that the U.S. has “destroyed up to 90% of Iran’s drone, ballistic missile, and naval industrial base” and “significantly degraded” its drone and missile capabilities.

Iranian officials told the state-run Fars News Agency on Thursday that it would have further developments to its defense capabilities.

“Soon, you will see a tip of this iceberg,” Iran’s Defense Ministry told the outlet.

Tehran launched several ballistic missiles at multiple American military aircraft at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan overnight Tuesday into Wednesday, CBS News reported Thursday. The attack was in response to U.S. strikes on five Iranian oil tankers Tuesday.

Trump denied the report, telling NewsNation’s Robert Sherman that there was no damage, “none whatsoever.”

The conflict has stretched into its sixth month, with no deal for peace apparently in sight. The U.S. and Iran have quarreled over control of the Strait of Hormuz, which Iran has closed off, effectively preventing roughly 20 percent of the world’s oil supply from being exported out of the region. This has caused gas prices to skyrocket, adding to the conflict’s unpopularity among Americans.

Trump, while en route to the Republican National Committee midterm convention in Dallas on Wednesday, said the conflict would end “immediately” after the midterm elections. He later admitted that the conflict will likely go on past the November elections.

“Yes, a negotiation could possibly happen, but it’s not something we’re looking at,” he told reporters.

Waste of resources.
This may speed up their end.

Yes Russia has been delivering scores of new generation missiles to IRAN for weeks now. Those can sink US ships.

Iran swarmed Jordan with missiles the other day. So we see they have renewed their strike capabilities and made them more precise and lethal.

America is not fighting a war as Trump admitted yesterday. That’s why America isn’t winning against Iran.

If America wants to win it has to have the will fighting a war. And that “will” is non-existent. At least for now.

The Strait of Hormuz remains closed to about 95%.

Producing more weapons. Then I’m glad we’ve been diminishing their capacity. Islamic nation with a nuke? No thanks. Keep up the target practice.

Apparently we've been destroying their missiles with our bases.

Well, thank goodness the Iranians are exercising such prudence and demonstrating such forbearance in not using any of those "scores" of "new-generation missiles" to sink U.S.N. ships!

SERIOUSLY: I doubt that Russia can afford to share her precious high-tech missiles with Iran, or that Iran would have the technological wherewithal or satellite-supported targeting data to launch them, if they ever got their grubby little hands on them.

These ain't bottle-rockets we're talking about here!

So unless you can link to credible reports about this, I am suspending judgement on this matter for the time being.

I appreciate your wishing to remain cautious, but undue pessimism is not productive.

Make Iran the next Hiroshima/ Nagasaki. One of these days one of the missiles will hit a navy ship and then what? Finish the off!

“Whom are you going to believe?”

>>>>>>>>>>>>

Trump has this strategy of saying things that everyone knows aren’t true.
For example he has said at least 30 times that “Now we have a deal with Iran, the straight of Hormuz is know FULLY open! Peace in our time!” etc etc... he has said that for months. And there were absolutely ZERO deals!
Except for that MOU which was an American grotesque capitulation that gave IRAN absolutely everything they could have ever dreamed of ! Luckily, the Iranians trashed the deal because they are fanatics. That saved America from that MOU-capitulation.

I believe in peace through strength.
It’s about time America tries that against Iran. Because for now I have only seen a few skirmishes. Trump admitted to it 2 days ago, by saying it’s only “small potatoes and there is no war !” Thus, America can’t possibly win.

You can’t win over the Iranians if you don’t do a war against them. Its common sense.

The EPA can see a farmer dig a trench in the middle of a thousand acres of wetland in the middle of BFE without setting foot on the property. Why can’t we see the Iranians digging tunnels and stop them?

For some reason I’m starting to think there are powers that want this “little excursion” and “small potatoes” action of Trump’s to just keep going. You have to convince me that there are not people in the know that are making fortunes we can’t fathom trading stocks and commodities related to all of this mess.

Trump dubbing this “little excursion” of his and the related impacts “small potatoes” last week pissed me off as much or more than anything he has said. Saying things like that shows he does not respect us at all.

Look at the BIG PICTURE of all that is going on.

Trump is fighting for your freedom and all you can do is bitch and moan.

Let me check. Yup, I thought so. I was free before he came on the scene and sure enough free when he began this “little excursion”.

By the way, “little excursion” was his designation, not mine.

The BIG PICTURE is that we are stuck in a war that is getting bigger and has not accomplished anything substantial since the night of June 22, 2025. The BIG PICTURE is that unless Iran is destroyed they will just continue to recover and do what they have done for nearly 50 years. Unless you are willing and able to destroy them they should have been left alone. So far, I have seen neither the will or the ability to destroy Iran and certainly not without much bigger problems ensuing.

So, what is the BIG PICTURE of all that is going on according to you?
