President Trump’s DOJ Hits Chinese-Run Scam Network With $52 Million One-Day Sweep

President Trump’s administration just landed a major blow against the industrial-scale scam networks stealing from Americans.

In one coordinated operation, federal authorities restrained more than $52 million in cryptocurrency, sanctioned a Chinese-language criminal marketplace and helped foreign partners dismantle 13 Chinese-run scam compounds in Madagascar.

This was not a small cybercrime bust.

It was a strike at the infrastructure that allows fraud rings to recruit workers, build fake investment platforms, move stolen money and prey on victims across the world.

The target at the center of the operation was Xinbi Guarantee, a Telegram-based marketplace that the Treasury Department says has processed at least $24 billion in transactions since 2022.

Xinbi did not need to steal every dollar itself. It provided the criminal ecosystem.

According to the government, vendors operating through the marketplace offered money laundering, stolen personal information, technology for fraudulent websites and other services used by scam operations.

That is what makes these networks so dangerous. They turn fraud into a supply chain.

One group can obtain stolen identities. Another can build the fake trading site.

A third can recruit or traffic workers into a guarded compound. Money launderers then convert the victim’s savings into cryptocurrency and move it through layers of wallets.

Every service makes the next scam easier to launch.

The Justice Department’s announcement says the Scam Center Strike Force seized or restrained roughly $52 million tied to Xinbi in a single day. That included about $12 million in two wallets plus assets associated with 47 additional cryptocurrency addresses.

The task force says it has now restrained approximately $938 million in cryptocurrency since its work began.

Those numbers represent more than digital tokens on a government ledger. They represent money that criminal organizations can no longer use to expand compounds, buy victim lists, bribe officials or finance the next wave of attacks.

The Treasury Department designated Xinbi as a transnational criminal organization, cutting it off from the U.S. financial system and exposing anyone who continues doing business with it to serious risk.

The Treasury sanctions notice says the marketplace supported cyber scams, fraud and money laundering targeting Americans and other victims. It also links the platform to the broader Chinese organized-crime ecosystem operating scam centers across Southeast Asia and beyond.

At the same time, American personnel worked with authorities in Madagascar on operations against 13 Chinese-run compounds.

Investigators processed roughly 3,200 electronic devices that may reveal the reach of the network and identify more victims, operators and financial routes. Nearly 400 people were arrested, and about 30 alleged Chinese ringleaders were repatriated to China.

Treasury identified Xinbi’s chief executive officer, the company’s founder and a related Telegram-based group among the sanctioned targets. Any property or interests they hold under U.S. jurisdiction are blocked, and American persons are generally barred from transacting with them.

The scale is staggering, but it also reveals a hard truth: these are not lone hackers working from spare bedrooms.

They are organized enterprises with offices, equipment, managers, technical specialists and international financial channels.

Many of the workers inside scam compounds are themselves trafficking victims, held under coercive conditions and forced to manipulate strangers online. The leaders profit from both sides—stealing from victims abroad while exploiting workers on site.

Americans often encounter the operation through a friendly message, a wrong-number text, a dating profile or an invitation to an exclusive investment opportunity. The relationship is cultivated over days or weeks before the victim is directed to a polished but fraudulent cryptocurrency platform.

The displayed profits are fake. The deposits are real.

By the time the victim learns the truth, the money may have crossed dozens of wallets and several countries.

The FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center recorded $8.65 billion in cryptocurrency-related fraud losses in 2025, according to the Justice Department. That was an 89 percent increase from the $4.57 billion reported in 2023.

The real damage is almost certainly higher because many victims never report what happened. Some are embarrassed.

Others do not realize the person they trusted was part of a scripted operation until long after the money is gone.

President Trump’s Justice and Treasury departments are attacking the problem where it hurts: the money, the marketplaces and the physical compounds.

Arresting an individual scammer can stop one operator. Freezing the assets and dismantling the infrastructure can disrupt thousands of crimes at once.

The fight is far from over. Telegram marketplaces can rebrand, wallet networks can move and organized-crime groups can relocate across borders.

But $52 million restrained in one day, 13 compounds hit and hundreds of arrests send the right signal.

The United States is no longer treating these scams as annoying spam.

It is treating them as organized transnational crime—and going after the system that makes them possible.

What I voted for.

I’m trying to consider the positives as I do the negative actions.

Now finish the Iranians. No tit for tat crap, just finish them. Sink all their tankers as a show of good faith to US. Then start on their refineries and power plants. Save the water supplies for last.
