California bill recognizing 2 Islamic holidays nears Newsom’s desk

California could soon formally recognize two of Islam’s most important holy days under legislation that would give state workers greater flexibility to take them off and allow public schools to close in observance of the holidays.

The measure, which overwhelmingly passed the state Assembly and is awaiting Senate action, would recognize Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha in state law and could soon head to Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom’s desk.

Assembly Bill 2017, introduced by Democratic San Francisco Assemblymember Matt Haney, passed the Assembly 64-1 in late May. It must clear the Senate before the legislative session ends Monday to reach Newsom.

The bill would let state employees use existing paid holiday credits to take time off for Eid. Public schools and community colleges could also close for the holidays.

"California is home to one of the largest and most vibrant Muslim communities in the country, and their traditions deserve recognition and respect," Haney said in a news release about the bill in March. "No student should have to choose between celebrating one of the holiest days of their faith and showing up to school, and no worker should feel they have to sacrifice their religious observance."

Haney also said the bill is also about treating Muslim Californians equally.

"AB 2017 is about making sure Muslim Californians are seen, valued, and treated with the same dignity as every other community in our state," he said.

Eid al-Fitr, or the "Festival of Breaking the Fast," marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month when Muslims fast from dawn to sunset. Eid al-Adha, or the "Festival of Sacrifice," commemorates the willingness of the Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son in obedience to God.

It is important to understand that in some countries, with well under 100% Muslim populations, such as France, the minority Muslim populations live in ghettos, within which they are 100% Muslim, and within which they live by Sharia Law.

The national police do not even enter these ghettos. There are no national courts, nor schools, nor non-Muslim religious facilities. In such situations, Muslims do not integrate in to the community at large. The children attend madrasses. They learn only the Koran. To even associate with an infidel is a crime punishable with death.

Therefore, in some areas of certain nations, Muslim Imams and extremists exercise more power than the national average would indicate. Today's 1.5 billion Muslims make up 22% of the world's population. But their birth rates dwarf the birth rates of Christians, Hindus, Buddhists, Jews, and all other believers. Muslims will exceed 50% of the world's population by the end of this century.

In light of this, we should fully restrict and ban legal immigration for anyone who practices Islam, and by extension, from any country that is under Islamic rule (absent individual definitive proof of Christian, or at least, non-Islamic religion, keeping in mind the practice of taquiyya in the muslim ideology)

Considering the excerpt above from Dr. Peter Hammond's book, it is clear that there is strong historical evidence that it would be a practice of national self-preservation to exclude any Islam based immigration (legal or illegal) solely on historic empirical observations as described above.

If someone Christian or Jewish in the US wanted to open a little food store or a shop after moving to Syria, Iraq or Iran, would they be able to put up a cross and picture of Jesus on the wall and get their kids to have time off from school to celebrate Christian holidays, or the Jewish Sabbath and Holy Days during Yom Kippur and so on?

But the other way around is a strong demand within the US.

Dr. Peter Hammond’s analysis is I think spot on.

I tried articulating a similar idea several times, but by far didn’t have it as well thought out nor the examples.

He did his homework.

It is at its most basic level, using liberal concepts, exclusive and intolerant. Of course libtards won’t apply those ideas to Islam.

In the West, even for those who are practicing Christians, it’s something we do on Sunday, but it does not for the better or worse, permeate every aspect of our life.

Islam influences the government form, laws (Sharia), dress, food (Halal), sexual relations, schools, limits on freedoms and rights, even banking and finances are dictated by this religion.

Where practiced in earnest, it becomes the sole means around which society is organized.

I have a limited understanding of Islam by many standards I have to admit, but I have read several books including works from Bernard Lewis such as “What Went Wrong? : The Clash Between Islam and Modernity in the Middle East” and “Cultures in Conflict: Christians, Muslims, and Jews in the Age of Discovery” and he was, I think, and even after his death might still be the foremost scholar of Islam in the West.

So, many of the important things I learned about Islam (apart, of course, with what I have seen with my own eyes over the last half century or so-those things impart their own information) I took to heart the analysis of Bernard Lewis, because I didn’t see any better source to have it framed for me. I can make my decisions based on the best information, and that (in the West) was him.

His way of conveying his views on Islam and the West without rancor or simple negativity is remarkable.

And I know this: The Koran is a political manual. It is not a religion. And we as a nation better start treating it less as a religion and more as a political system.
