On Friday, August 7, 2026, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey signed a defense agreement in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, referred to by many as a “(Sunni) Muslim NATO.” U.S. president Donald Trump praised the agreement without considering the consequences for America or its ally Israel, as well as how Greece and India would react to this deal.
In a post shared on social media, Trump said he was “very happy” that the three countries had signed the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement, adding that it showed the Middle East was “coming together” and would allow countries to defend themselves “in a more meaningful way.”
Interestingly, in November of last year, Trump signed a Strategic Defense Agreement with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The White House affirmed the U.S. as Saudi Arabia’s “primary strategic partner,” alongside plans for F-35 sales and hundreds of American tanks. Trump attempted to advance a civilian nuclear deal with the Saudis if they joined the Abraham Accords, but they refused.
Trump’s praise of the Mecca agreement neglected consideration of the long-term geo-political implications of such an alliance, which bodes ill for Israel, India, Greece, and ultimately the U.S. First and foremost, the alliance is meant to replace the U.S. presence in the region. The Saudis, for one, having experienced missiles from Iran, allegedly because of their hosting U.S. military bases, are seeking to eventually replace the U.S. with Sunni Muslim allies. The Alliance is also a way for Riyadh to appease its restive Wahhabi Muslim public by ultimately getting rid of the infidel Americans on its soil.

Then those countries can set up their own mutual defense agreement to counter the defense agreement they don’t like.
I’m not sure what President Trump could have done about it, and criticizing it is not necessarily a good move right now - given that for the time being these actors are not supporting Iran. Iran is the biggest threat in the region - even though Pakistan has nukes. Iran’s pseudo theocracy is truly run by fanatics.
Ultimately, it’s not going to be words or quotes that makes the world safer from the Islamic threat. This has been festering for a long, long time, and this alliance is a relatively small development when considering the totality of the Islamic threat to the world.
Time advances but some things remain the same.

How many of those are loyal to Iran is always a crap shoot and Iran supplies many. So, can they get nuked? Yes, but by who? And when as they change loyalty based upon product capacity as often as we change underwear. They aren’t totally loyal to each other all the time. Hopefully they fear each other.
But having the middle east commit to each other’s safety by numbers is no different than the military supremacy countries like the US, Russia, China, India and South Korea possess (In order of capacity) and making some within a country, hopefully, think twice. And the whole problem is not all the countries. It’s the dissident within them. And these groups attack their own countries all the time.

If we are going to deal with Muslims, we should be dealing with why they are allowed in America in the first place.
Their religion aka Muslime government is not compatible with the US Constitution or the American way of life. These people require special “cut outs” that others do not get because their religion/government requires them. They should have never been allowed to take any positions in government as long as they practice Islam.
That is how we should deal with them. By deporting them and their Islamic way out of our country.

The premise here is absurd. Is Pakistan going to build F-35s? Is Turkey going to build Patriots? Whose aircraft carrier is going to defend the Red Sea? Third/fourth tier countries like Pakistan or Turkey or Saudia Arabia cannot replace the US.
This agreement is not a threat to the US.
On 9-12-2001 Mecca and Medina should have been just deep craters so radioactive no one could march around them for 10 thousand years.
