A US airman who was arrested twice, once on the steps of the US Capitol while calling for the impeachment of President Donald Trump, was officially criminally charged Monday for his comments, according to a charging document his attorney shared with CNN.

Maj. Jason Watson faces the following charges under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, according to the document: three violations of Article 88 for alleged “contemptuous” remarks about Trump, five violations of Article 92 for allegedly disobeying orders and two violations of Article 133 for alleged conduct unbecoming an officer.

The rare Article 88 charges are connected to the Air Force officer’s June interview with the Defenders of our Republic Substack newsletter, his July 1 protest in uniform at the US Capitol, and an August 17 CNN interview.

Can't have this kind of insubordination, especially by ofFicers. There was a near military coup against PRESIDENT Trump in 2020. Hegseth's cutting that that gabarbage off at the feet now. THREE CHEERS!!!

When I enlisted, it was made abundantly clear that political speech could get you in hot water. For an officer, even more so.

The rule was, any political speech, or activism had to be done in civilian clothes with absolutely no reference to military status. Otherwise, you’d be treated to a captain’s mast.

When I worked as an Air Force contractor in 2020, every Air Force email account got an email from the Secretary of the Air Force “reminding” us that military facilities (including computers or email accounts) were not to be used for political purposes, and that political activities were not allowed on military installations, nor could personnel attend political rallies or demonstrations in uniform.

NOT for his comments. Violating the UCMJ. There is a difference. I know several veterans that are anti Trump uber libs. No doubt a lot currently serving as well.

In my day (Vietnam), a “Double D” was almost instantaneous (Dishonorable Dishcharge).

I never ran afoul of the UCMJ during my stellar (LOL) Army career so I don’t know much about it. But it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that this violates at least one of the Articles...and probably more than one. I’d love to see this punk spend a few years in Leavenworth,Kansas.

Hmmm..2020? Gee,who had recently been *selected* as President in that year?!?! Maybe his puppet masters knew that the troops wouldn’t be pleased serving under him so they put out this directive.

This is a no-brainer. Saying that as a commissioned officer while in uniform is an open and shut violation of the UCMJ.

Next step for the major? Mebbe he's planning a run for Kongress in one of our uber liberal districts? His treason is applauded by democrats. Just like the cheerleaders of that woman who murdered her children.

Liberals are positively demonic.

If he wouldn't have unwisely run his motor mouth, his
"comments" would not have resulted in a UCMJ article.

Wasn’t there a general who was cashiered for slamming Bill Clinton for being drafted and refusing to serve, using his friends in high places to defy the draft law, and fleeing his country in wartime to avoid military service?

Remember, it would have been President Trump’s Secretary of the Air Force, and from the very few communications I recall, a very competent individual, who never betrayed any hint of political bias.
