Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that holding elections during wartime would pose a threat to the country, following a controversial call by his former defense minister to pave the way for an election. According to the latest opinion poll by the Kyiv Institute of Sociology carried out this summer, only 15 per cent of those surveyed want an election to be held at this time. Details by Eliza Herbert.

Dictators have a tendency of canceling out anything they deem as threat to their power. As far as ONLY 15% of the citizens wanting an election is pure BS and a poll designed with a predetermined outcome to get the desired results in hopes the people buy it.

Theoretically, by human nature, if a war allows a leader to stay in power indefinitely.

why would they ever want peace?

Let him stay. Resign when the war’s over. Churchill got thrown out and had to mount a comeback.

This is a senseless war. Putin jumped the gun under prodding by our cadaver president to admit the Ukraine into NATO. Zelinsky appears to be a wealthy (at our expense) thug.

There’s no way Zelensky would win an election.

I agree with his logic.

An election would split the country.

An existential risk.

This is a senseless war.

Which is an assessment made by most Americans who want the war in Ukraine to end.

FDR had token opposition during his war-time elections, there was no danger of him losing.

Zelensky, his ‘elites’ and the EU’s ‘elites’ want the war - Ukraine was a corrupt little hellhole that laundered money for them and gave $60,000 a month jobs to drug addicted whore mongers like Hunter Biden and Kerry’s step son as a ‘favor’ in exchange for American blood and treasure.

My guess is the people of Ukraine would live about the same under Dictator Zelensky and/or Dictator Putin and they don’t want the war to be fought to keep the country ‘free’ to launder money for Europe’s’ swells or for Putin’s ego.

Why we’re involved is a mystery...

Yep. It’s a repeat of the of the insanity of WW1. Just on a smaller scale.
There are no clean hands here.
But few people want to consider that.

The pro-Russia folks will now call us Zelensky stooges.
And the pro-Ukraine folks will now call us Putin stooges.

The same thing happened in Gaza. Tensions between Fatah and Hamas began to rise in 2005 after the death of Yasser Arafat in November 2004. After the legislative election on 25 January 2006, which resulted in a Hamas victory, relations were marked by sporadic factional fighting. This became more intense after the two parties repeatedly failed to reach a deal to share government power, escalating in June 2007 and resulting in Hamas’ takeover of Gaza.

Hamas has been the de facto governing authority of the Gaza Strip since its takeover in June 2007. Since then, it has fought several wars with Israel, and the Palestinian Authority has been split into two polities, each seeing itself as the true representative of the Palestinian people – the Fatah-ruled Palestinian National Authority and the Hamas Government in Gaza.

While Hamas initially maintained strict authoritarian control after seizing power in 2007, ongoing conflict and the collapse of formal civil administration have created a severe security vacuum which includes carrying out extrajudicial killings, summary executions, and physical crackdowns against Palestinians in Gaza. These acts of violence typically target individuals accused of opposing the group, protesting, or collaborating with Israel.

Ukrine has done it another way. A 2022 report by Amnesty International stated that Ukrainian forces had put civilians at risk in certain instances by establishing bases and launching strikes from populated residential areas, including schools and hospitals. They just hid it by not formally constituting the intentional use of human shields—which requires deliberately using civilians to shield military targets from enemy attacks. Tomato/tomato.

The Ukraine, just like the terrorist group hamas, is not concerned with winning the war as not losing it. So both Russia and the Ukraine use this tactic and hide behind pointing fingers.

Why we’re involved is a mystery...

Because much of the Davos/WEF/Brussels globalist apparatus is/was deeply entrenched in the US Deep State and they hate/fear Trump.

Russia-gate, the Vindman "whistleblower" case, the phony Mar-A-Lago documents case and Jack Smith - all coup-attempts against Trump, and all had their roots in London or Brussels.

Time’s person of the year, we’re told leads in the polls, is still rejecting an election?

The ideal outcome for Ukraine is to be ruled under a military junta for a couple of decades that is pro-Russian. It'll be similar to Belarus under Alexander Lukashenko.

Having nothing to do with the realities of the Ukraine-Russia war, but everything to do with Free Republic threads and comments, I want to make an official statement.

"The pro-Russia folks will now call us Zelensky stooges. And the pro-Ukraine folks will now call us Putin stooges."

Yeah, I stole it from you, but it needs to be hollered into the headwinds of Free Republic. So, thanks bunches!
