Sen. Darline Graham (R-SC) may have been crazy like a fox when she delivered what looked like an epic debate flub when she admitted “national security is not my thing,” said one state expert who has been watching the fallout.
The comment had shades of a Joe Biden-style collapse when she uttered it Wednesday night in response to a question about Taiwan and the South China Sea during the only debate in the Senate Republican runoff race.
But some political pros say it was a designed ploy to separate herself from her opponent Rep. Ralph Norman (R-S.C.). At a minimum, it is something she is incorporating into her final pitch before Tuesday’s runoff election to fill the seat long held by her brother Sen. Lindsey Graham, who died last month at 71.
“It might have been a strategic choice to try to get sympathy,” one state GOP operative told The Post.

People voting with their emotions rather than their brains is why the 19th Amendment is a mistake.
5.57 million individuals in South Carolina. There must be several better than Darline to represent the great state.
She is such a fake. They put the “smart lady” lady glasses on her, she ditched the Nordine name.
Saying she is pretending doesn’t help.
But then SC supposedly kept voting for her warmongering bro no matter what a conniving POS he was.
"My opponent and I could not be more different. You see, he knows what he's talking about. And I definitely don't."
Your Friday night News Summary was banned on FR? Was all of your stuff banned? Just curious. Always enjoyed reading your posts. Had a shade of Drudge Report back in the days Drudge was good. In fact, you shoukd think about a reformat in that style, as opposed to a straight line listing of articles.
Or maybe it's just honesty.
Or maybe it's STRATEGIC HONESTY.
You are going to look like a fool if you try to fake competence on foreign policy.
What a fascinating speculation, without additional detail.
Given President Trump, SC Senator Tim Scott, Lt. Governor Everette, SC Congressman Russell Fry ( the last two ran against her in the primary ) and other endorsed Graham, there is one side to the thread's views.
The current governor McMaster had not made an endorsement until yesterday. He endorsed Graham.
Here are some multiple links with endorsements.

If you have more of a case to say "Maybe she plans to run as a democrat," perhaps it can be framed in light of President Trump's clear support?
Pure, blatant nepotism.
And the 13th.
She’s a clueless idiot.
This is the best SC Republicans can do??
Who has the better chance of winning?
Who would be more loyal to the president?
Maybe off topic, but how did she decide to run for the full six year term?
At first, she was chosen to replace Lindsey Graham, and supposedly it was an uncontroversial choice ,to appoint his sister to fill out the remaining few months of his term.
What was she doing before this? Does anyone know her life situation? Family situation What she did for a living before she was appointed a senator?
Is she conservative?
Smart on her part.
Veterans make up roughly 8.3–8.5% of South Carolina’s adult civilian population—one of the higher shares among U.S. states.
Add in family members.
She isn’t running to represent Taiwan, but the voters of South Carolina.
This story is BULL!
Geoff Earle manages to be world’s biggest optimist and cynic in the same breath.
Appealing to pity because of one’s own complete ignorance, lack of ability, and inadequate preparation should not be a viable strategy for election to an important office in the First World. Earle might believe that the electorate is stupid enough to be gulled by that, or is he just whistling past the graveyard. Either way hits the bottom of the barrel.
“Insiders” telling you she says stupid things on purpose.
It’s how they deflect and blunt the response.
who you gonna believe? Me, or your own lying eyes?
If I lived there , I’d vote for Norman
