The reactor was produced under President Trump’s 2025 nuclear reactor plan. It was designed by Australian Bobby Gallagher and his team in Houston. It can produce one megawatt of power, at a cost of 15 cents per kilowatt hour, for five years before refueling is required. The entire reactor can fit on the bed of a Ford F150 pickup. More importantly, it can be manufactured in a factory, fits into one 20-foot shipping container, uses the existing conventional supply chain, and requires no exotic custom-made components.

Based on data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), an average American household consumes around 10,500 kWh annually, or roughly 30 kWh daily. Thus, 1 MWh could power around 300 such homes for a day.
This could fuel the base camp for my Bigfoot expedition.
No where does it say how it generates electricity.

It sounds well made for medium commercial vessels.
The giant commercial vessels need about 75 megawatts. (100,000 horsepower)
1 megawatt is 1,341 horsepower.
When the libs see a lot of us using them they’ll dream up an environmental reason to ban them.
A gasoline pump would run out of gas at that rate in several days. This one runs for 5 years.

Electric vehicle batteries typically hold about 100 kilowatthours of electrical power.
A 1 megawatt generator would produce enough power to fully charge about 10 per hour, continuously, or about 240 complete charges per day.
That may be an average of 12 to 24kWh a day but that is FAR different than peak demand. The mean peak demand is late afternoon to early evening or around dinner time. The average peak demand is 9kW.
Although this is what data centers need, all the Karens will be shrieking “NO NUKES”.

I wonder where the “sweet spot” of economy of scale is. I suspect a 10 megawatt generator could produce power cheaper than 15 cents per kilowatt hour.
How much can an F150 tow?

Is this price just for the fuel or does it include the Reactor, Steam Plant and generator?
The average price for power is 14 cents a kWh from the utility.
I think it can produce one megawatt of power, continuously for 5 years.
So it can provide the needed power for 700 – 1000 homes for five year
A typical U.S. home uses ~900–1,100 kWh per month, or ~10,000–12,000 kWh per year.
1 MW running continuously for a year produces:
1” MW”×8,760” hours”=8,760” MWh/year”
which is 8.76 million kWh per year.
Can this be right?
The reactor only makes controlled heat energy.
