Texas Senate hopeful James Talarico once delivered a sermon titled “God is not a Christian” as part of a fiery rebuke of conservatives whom the Democrat accused of trying to transform America into a theocracy.
Talarico, a Presbyterian seminarian and Texas state rep., admitted in his 2023 sermon that he is sometimes reluctant to share his faith, while warning, “There is a cancer on our religion.”
“God is so much bigger than our human categories. God is not a Presbyterian. God is not a Christian. God is not a noun at all. God is a verb. God is not a being. God is being self. God is love,” Talarico told a congregation at St. Andrews’ Presbyterian Church.
“That’s why Jesus is against anything that gets in the way of that love between neighbors, including religion. That’s why he’s always breaking religious rules,” he added. “That’s why he says sinners will see the kingdom of heaven before religious people do.”
Throughout his meteoric political rise, Talarico has leaned on religious themes, similar to former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, who is also known for his sharp oratory skills and disdain for elements of religious conservatism.
But the aspiring senator, who once called God nonbinary, previously explained in a 2021 podcast that “I always think of myself as a Christian who hates Christianity,” though he also noted that despite his misgivings at times, “I always get drawn back into it.”
Those remarks were made during an interview with self-described “TransQueer, Latinx” activist theologian Roberto Henderson-Espinoza, whom Talarico described as a model for his faith.

He is very popular in Austin, Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio, where many conservative-leaning voters do not even know an election is underway.
Wendy “pink shoes” Davis: 2014 gubernatorial race, lost by 20 points
Beto “faux chicano” O’Rourke: 2016 senate race, lost by 2.6 points
Beto O’Rourke Redux: 2022 gubernatorial race, lost by 10.9 points
Colin “the great black dope” Allred: 2024 senate race, lost by 8.6 points
Who knows if he is, as polling has been increasingly inaccurate and irrelevant over time. That said, how do phony pastors grow huge congregations and become filthy rich?
This faggot would win in a cakewalk in Massachusetts...Maryland....Vermont...Oregon...and Kalifornia. But in Texas? Maybe not!
Paraphrasing St. Paul, they tickle the ears of their congregants.
He is a crazy person...
This is a good start for the New York Post, Texans favorite newspaper, to break the news that Talarico is pro abortion and is not a real Christian.
The more Texans that hear about Talarico’s views, the more voters will flock past their Texas flock cameras and vote Attorney General Paxton.
Because even TV News stations, like FOX7News in Austin, refuse to recognize Talafreako for the anti-Christian, leftist pile of diseased excrement that he is.
Change it to “If you hate America vote Talarico”
Technically that’s true, as the definition of a Christian is someone who FOLLOWS Christ, which wouldn’t apply to God. Pretty much everything else the guys says, though, is scripturally refutable nonsense.
Those debates with Ken Paxton are gonna be 🔥.
And yet, he still has a legitimate chance of winning.
I haven’t seen any yet inside the Pine Curtain. He is the candidate of the metrosexual.

Either his PawPaw there is an actor or he is just as deluded as little Jimmy.
My bet is that he is just an actor for the ad.
As Rush used to say, he is “plastic banana, phony baloney”.
