Democrats Nominate a Socialist for Senate in Deep Red Florida
PJ Media ^ | 19 August 2026 | Rick Moran

It's rare that a political party lines up to jump off a cliff. That's what the Democratic Party is doing in 2026.

A newly minted Democratic Socialist of America (DSA) member defeated a Democratic Party establishment favorite who outraised the socialist by 20-to-1. It clearly demonstrated, if any more proof was necessary, that the Democrats are playing Russian Roulette with a bullet in every chamber.

State Rep. Angie Nixon (D-13th District) was not endorsed by the national DSA, largely because she joined the party only recently. Looking to ride the crest of the socialist wave in the Democratic Party, Nixon was a huge underdog, raising less than a million dollars.

And yet, she easily defeated former Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, who testified against Donald Trump in his second impeachment trial. Vindman raised $20 million and was expected to coast to victory, setting up a November contest to fill the remainder of Secretary of State Marco Rubio's term.

Repeat after me: Democrats are cray-cray in a big way-way.

Nixon will be led to the slaughter in November, facing off against Sen. Ashley Moody, whom Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis appointed to Rubio's seat until the special election.

Moody probably can't believe her luck. Florida just went from "lean Republican" to "Unbelievably safe."

Nixon ally, State Rep. Anna Eskamani (D-47th District), a progressive Democrat from Orlando, said Nixon’s campaign centered around working-class issues, from affordability to healthcare. Actually, the DSA doesn't have an economic plan beyond "seizing the means of production" and probably setting up a guillotine on the Washington Mall.

Thank you very much and God bless you.

Where do the Dems find them?! OTOH, she doesn't have a Nazi tattoo (as far as we know) and has not been accused of rape.

I wonder if Vindmann was even too slimy for Democrats.

A radio program here had audio of her screaming in the legislature about, I think, a majority black congressional district that was going to be redrawn. She could have made her point without being a lunatic. I will have to say thanks to her voters for dispatching Vindmann, though.

I’m sure the usual suspects will declare that she is a sho in cause Trump did or didn’t do (fill in the blank here).

Heard from a Democrat that Vindman was sitting on his war chest to use against Senator Moody in November. HaHa...never leave money for the next race, because there may not be one!

Like Muslim “refugees” from Islamic countries who come to the US and want to establish Sharia law, Democrats escaping destructive Democrat-run states still reflexively vote the same way they did in those states.

Hasn’t been accused of rape yet, Lisa…

Honestly I think this was more of a rejection of the slimy Vindman than a vote for communism (compared to NYC). Wassean easily blaster her communist opponent.

I really wonder if we give the American voter too much credit. I'm not convinced that they DON'T WANT socialism.

She is one nasty piece of work, although I was glad to see her beat the obnoxious publicity seeking Vindman in a landslide when he outspent her 20-1 with old liberals’ wasted money. This character is quoted online as having praised Assata Shakur, the play name for one Joanne Chesimard. Miss Chesimard was convicted of the 70s murder of NJ State Trooper Werner Foerster while he lay wounded by her cohorts on the pavement of the interstate in North Jersey. She was imprisoned and to the leftists’ delight, escaped to Cuba where her admirer, Fidel Castro, gave this tramp shelter. She finally died last year (I hope she suffered and I suspect went straight to her master in Hell). The remaining good thing out of this space cadet being nominated for senator is that she is twinned with the ex-Republican Jolly as the Dem nominee for FLorida governor. He will have a very hard time disavowing Miss Crazy and if he does there goes part of the black vote in Florida.
