In the five years since the chaotic US withdrawal from Kabul and the Taliban’s return to power, Afghanistan has become home to one of the world’s worst human rights and humanitarian emergencies.
Once central to US foreign policy, with American taxpayers footing a $2.3 trillion bill for its 20-year war there, Afghanistan and its people have largely slipped out of much of the world’s view, despite a convergence of man-made and natural crises that have pushed millions of children to starvation and stripped women and girls of their most fundamental rights.
Humanitarian aid to Afghanistan – which is needed by approximately 45% of the population – has been dramatically cut by international donors since the Taliban returned to power, with women and girls bearing the brunt of those cuts. The United States, once the top provider of assistance to Afghanistan, no longer even ranks in the top five of donor nations.
Plummeting assistance comes as the Taliban wages a continued assault on the rights of women and girls, eroding legal protections and systemically stripping them of agency under a system experts have described as “gender apartheid.” Their efforts have successfully erased half the population from public life and made Afghanistan one of the world’s most dangerous places to be a woman.

Looks like 2025 Kabul is cleaner, safer and more vibrant than Oakland or Baltimore. And this lesson is why we must never entertain the idea of sending aid and arms to innocent Iranian citizens in an attempt to help them overthrow the IRGC.

Look at how the DOD screwed up aid to the Kurds. Over a billion dollars in arms and assistance went unaccounted for.
CNN cheered on Biden and covered for them. What happened in Afghanistan then and now was clearly the liberals fault. I can’t care about the people there, they chose badly.
Well hmmm, I watched that 10min video and the number of woman I saw there you could almost count on one hand. All but one had their heir and face covered. Some with burkas, some with masks.
The most interesting thing I saw in this was at 9:17. A fellow sitting in a chair picking his nose and flipping his boogers into the street...

This is what they wanted. Afghans have brought Taliban to power more than once.
You cannot force democracy and human right down the throats of savages who prefer to live like 7th century goat herders. This has not worked anywhere in the Arab world and only in Asia for Muslims.
If CNN and western women are so concerned they should be smuggling guns to Afghan women not pleading for more $$$ to be stolen and flushed.
How on Allah's Green Earth did these goathumpers get along for thousands of years without "humanitarian" aid - especially US taxpayer aid?
