Nigel Farage won Clacton by-election with 22,239 votes to Count Binface's 9,455. Farage triggered the by-election by resigning amid financial scrutiny; major parties boycotted the vote.
Nigel Farage regained his parliamentary seat in Clacton-on-Sea after a by-election he triggered by resigning his post last month, besting Count Binface in a race boycotted by the United Kingdom’s main political parties.
Farage received 22,239 votes compared with 9,455 for Binface, who wears a rubbish can on his head and calls himself an “intergalactic space warrior,” in results announced after polls closed at 10 p.m. local time.
The contest was held at the Clacton Leisure Centre, where the count stretched through the night and final results were announced around 6 a.m., with voter turnout at 44 percent.
Farage framed the by-election as a test of his actions by local voters rather than the “mainstream media in Britain,” saying, “I called this by-election because I wanted the people of Clacton, the voters of this constituency to be my judge, not the mainstream media in Britain,” and he also said Clacton voters had “stuck two fingers up to the entire political establishment.”
Major parties boycotted the election, leaving Farage facing a field of fringe and joke candidates, with AP describing the contest as one “boycotted by mainstream parties that called it a farce.”
Farage did not attend the official vote count, and the BBC reported he cancelled planned interviews, saying his no show at the declaration was because the police had warned him of an attempt to "disrupt and degrade the result".
In the same account of the aftermath, the BBC said the investigation by the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards was resumed hours after the result was announced, meaning Farage could be forced out of Parliament and face yet another election.

The by-election result sends Farage back to the House of Commons, but the sources say the standards investigation is active again and could lead to sanctions that force another by-election.
AP reported that if the investigation finds Farage breached parliamentary guidelines, it could trigger a process that “could ultimately lead to another by-election,” and it said the investigation was suspended when he stepped down but resumed hours after the result was announced. Beyond the immediate legal risk, the sources describe political pressure on Reform UK, including the claim that Farage resigned on July 7 amid an investigation into whether he failed to report a 5 million pound gift from an overseas crypto billionaire.
In the background of the next steps, CNN also reported that Essex Police said there were “no incidents or issues,” and that choosing to attend the count was up to “individuals and their security teams,” as Farage’s campaign continued to frame the contest as a challenge to the establishment.

BBC deeply saddened.
They were giving the a-hole candidate lots and lots of airtime.
There have been fears in the British establishment that Nigel Farage could possibly become Britain’s next Prime Minister.
For those who are Following this issue, Farage recently resigned his Clacton seat, forcing a by-election and effectively asking voters to elect him all over again.
Britain’s major political parties then faced the obvious question: Who were they going to put up against him?
Their answer: Nobody.
Labour, the Conservatives, Liberal Democrats and Greens all declined. Officially, they said that Farage had created a “farce,” a “circus,” a “vanity project,” and serious politicians simply wouldn’t dignify it.
How terribly principled.
There is another possibility: they were afraid he would beat the pants off them.
Rather than send a candidate into the electoral woodchipper, Britain’s political establishment discovered a sudden respect for staying home.
Farage, you see, is simply too far right to run against.
And what, precisely, makes Nigel Farage so terrifyingly “far right”?
Well, He thinks Britain should control its borders, British laws should ultimately be made in Britain, violent criminals should receive meaningful sentences, taxes and regulation should be lower, farmers and domestic industry should be protected, Net Zero mandates deserve reconsideration, free speech is worth defending, and British history need not be treated as a national embarrassment.
He also supports keeping the NHS free at the point of use, which is presumably an especially cunning form of fascism.
Apparently “far right” is now easier than actually arguing with Farage’s policies. The particularly awkward problem for Britain’s political establishment is that increasing numbers of British voters seem to agree with him.
Perhaps the frightening thing about Farage isn’t that he’s far right. It’s that his ideas are far too popular.
Bibi is right. That Nigel is considered “far right” tells you how far gone England is. In truth he is about where Thune and Pence are.
Farage resigned early in order to generate a mandate by running again and winning the election. Its how British politics work.
But “Count Binface”? Wtf lol.
I can think of few countries more equipped to be the start of some joke than England.
I’m surprised Binface didn’t do better given his campaign promises.
Binface urged tax reform: “Vote Count Binface to... cut your taxes and raise everyone else’s”, to ban automatic renewal of online subscriptions, and reiterated his pledge to nationalise Adele.
