White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt will leave that post by the end of August, President Donald Trump said on Wednesday.
Leavitt’s departure was announced less than a month after she returned to the White House after having been on maternity leave for the birth of her daughter on May 1. Leavitt, 28, is resigning “so she can spend more time with her beautiful young children and family, a decision I totally understand and respect!” Trump said in a Truth Social post announcing her planned departure.
The president said that Leavitt will become “one of my top outside advisors” and work with the Republican Party to win the upcoming midterm elections in November.

Not surprised since she had 2 small children now.
Press Secretary is 24/7. She can run her own schedule now. Good lady...Excellent Press Secretary.
We can only hope the next press secretary is half as good as Karoline!!!
The job of White House press secretary is notorious for burnout, even for men.
That’s not the real reason.
Anybody who has followed politics, human nature and organizational behavior knows that.
You are going to be seeing quite a number of other jumpers IMHO from now up until November.
Good for her, not so good for us, depending on who replaces her.
She’s such a beautiful person inside and out.
so when did she tell you her real reason?
I think Karoline and Meghan McCain would get along very well. They have a lot in common.
Heard her on the Howie Carr Show two years ago before she got the job.. Sooo impressed back then. Now there is talk she may take over for Howie.
Looking forward to it, but will miss Howie...
Starting after John F. Kennedy’s presidency (1963) through today, the average tenure of a White House press secretary is approximately 2.4 years.
Will Sean Spicer return?
Karoline Levitt and Tony Snow — the two best in my lifetime
She’s a great lady...Nothing but the best of everything for Caroline and her family.
I love this decision! Go be Mama to your children! You won’t regret it!
(Full disclosure) I was a stay-at-home mom to my 3 children, and I wouldn’t trade that for ANYTHING in the world, even though it was NOT cool when I did so.
Signed,
FF - Proud trad wife.
Duh!...Karoline, not “Caroline”.
“”depending on who replaces her.””
Please - anyone with a pleasing voice - no more nasaly voices..no more like Kayleigh McEnany - even got used to Dana Perino after a fashion. They both found a home on FOX cable so let’s hope they stay there. How about a male press secretary? There was a time when that’s all we did have...
I think Dana Perino was the first female WH press secretary after all the male ones. One likeTony Snow would be great..
my thought as well... she was rock solid. there has to be another reason she’s leaving. this isnt a good sign IMHO...
The job is demanding.
Usually you can do the job effectively for a year or two before you've had enough.
