Woke LA Democrat who wants to defund the police gives appalling answer when asked what she'd do if a woman was raped

A top-ranking member of the Democratic Socialists of America refused to answer how rapists would be brought to justice if the party successfully abolished police and prisons.

Dr Frances Gill, a delegate in the political committee, was asked by NBC Los Angeles anchor Conan Nolan what would happen if his daughter was sexually assaulted under a DSA regime, which seeks to defund the police and entirely end the prison system.

'If my daughter is assaulted and raped, is there any agency that would seek to find her assailant and bring him to justice?' Nolan asked.

Gill responded that 'of course,' a rapist would be held accountable, before giving a meandering explanation of the root causes of crime that failed to directly answer the question because she wanted to 'avoid getting caught in hypotheticals and talk more about the reality.'

'We're spending absolutely outrageous amounts of money on police and policing, and we're not spending money on things that actually make people safe and feel safe,' she added.

'Which is things like actually well-lit streets. The street lights in Los Angeles. Everybody agrees it's a huge problem.'

A clip of Gill's answer went viral, prompting former mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt to use it to take aim at his rival, Nithya Raman.

'Nithya Raman's partner at DSA LA says their goal is to completely abolish police & prisons. When asked what happens if a girl gets raped? Her answer? "I want to talk about street lights,"' Pratt wrote.

Michael Dukakis was a pretty viable Democrat candidate for the presidency in 1988 until he was asked how he would respond to his wife (Kitty) being raped. Dukakis gave a mild, boring, technocratic answer. His WIFE has been raped, and he wanted to talk about lighting, or prison reform or whatever. A whole bunch of people decided that such a bloodless bureaucrat was not going to make life better for normal people.

And exactly who would do the detecting and arresting? They aren’t serious, they know if they eliminate law enforcement they are toast - what they mean is they’d have ‘police’ to protect themselves and everybody else would have none. That’s what happens in 3rd/4th world dictatorships and what they want to do to this Republic. They are a clear and present danger.
