Trump calls Iran ‘all talk and no action,’ touts ‘Wall of Steel’ US Navy blockade as more oil flow

President Trump claimed Wednesday that the US has complete control of the Strait of Hormuz, one day after Energy Secretary Chris Wright confirmed increasing oil exports from the crucial waterway as Iran’s economy continues to free fall.

“The U.S.A. has total control over the Strait of Hormuz. I THINK WE WILL KEEP IT!” Trump proclaimed on Truth Social.

“Our Naval Blockade is being called, by everyone, ‘A WALL OF STEEL,’ and there is nothing Iran can do about it,” he added.

***“On Sunday alone, over 20 million barrels left the Arabian gulf region, which is above the pre-conflict average.”

Only 84 vessels were recorded going through the strait last week, according to maritime data firm Kpler. However, a source familiar with the situation told The Post that many firms undercount the number of ships leaving the Strait of Hormuz***

***Trump said of Iran: “They have no Navy, they have no Air Force, their remaining soldiers are unpaid, the IRGC is decimated and fleeing, and their ‘Leadership’ is uncertain, at best!

They have No Money – Their country is ‘shot.’ All they have is FAKE NEWS and 300% INFLATION, and getting worse!” he concluded. “Iran is all talk and no action, the Bully of the Middle East No Longer.Praise be to Allah!”

***

“Hormuz is a shrinking asset for Iran’s regime,” Mark Dubowitz, the CEO of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies think tank, wrote on X Tuesday.

“They played this card at their weakest—not when Khamenei intended: after securing nukes and ICBMs, backed by vast arsenals of ballistic missiles and drones and powerful terror armies,” he added.

Iran has insisted that it will maintain control of the Strait of Hormuz and warned the US to end its blockade or face retaliatory attacks in the region.

A few notes:

The “analyst” cited in the article, Mark Dubowitz, is more of a propagandist than an analyst. He is the Jewish CEO of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies which is dedicated to supporting Irsael and Ukraine (ironically, not a democracy).

He should have added that our inflation has eased in the past month while theirs has tripled. We are winning.

Your data shows that Trump is being publicly made to learn the phrase, “You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink.” The oil tankers want to “wait”. Trump thought they would want to move oil.

At 3.4% annual inflation prices double every 20 years.

Winning!

The Federal Reserve 'targets' inflation of 2%, which would double prices every 35 years.

Crude currently in the low $80s/barrel and falling despite the blockade and despite Iran remaining hostile with no hope for peace on the horizon.

To me, that means that the work-arounds are starting to work, and the blockade is beginning to bite Iran hard.

You sound as if you’ve never read any of the articles on “The Foundation for the Defense of Democracy” site. They have excellent writers, and Bill Roggio is a top analyst of wars in the Middle East through Afghanistan. They also have good articles on Russia, Ukraine, and China.

What I said about Mark Dubowitz and Foundation for Defense of Democracies is factually accurate whether it hurts your feelings or not.

I’m just putting this out there but oil prices on an inflation basis are not unreasonable. Maybe Trump needs to cut and run and just accept the current traffic through the Hormuz is the new normal? It will benefit North American producers and further solidify friendly supply lines to the US. Hormuz is now Europe’s problem. Not ours.
