RICHMOND (Town in Upstate NY) — A homeowner caught two burglars in his residence and held them at gunpoint until Ontario County Sheriff’s Office deputies could arrive, the sheriff’s office said Monday.

Alexandria L. Mosher, 19, and Dominick J. Wood, 22, both of Lima, Livingston County, were charged Aug. 9 with second-degree burglary, a felony.

Deputies responded to an Oneill Road home Sunday at 9 p.m. to check on a report of a burglary. The homeowner, seeing the car of the suspects in his driveway, shot out the tires of the vehicle, the sheriff’s office said. Upon hearing the shots, the two suspects came out of the home with their hands up and surrendered to the homeowner, who held them until police arrived to arrest the pair.

Photos of the perps and everything. Soon to be memory holed by the "excessive force" crowd.

Check out the last sentence of the article.

The perps were “...arraigned and released on pretrial release...”

to add: which 99% fail to show at said “appearance” and bench warrants are issues, thus wasting more resources and tax payer money.

Well, not everyone.

Case in point that’s getting very little reportage...

Come on, drugs are expensive and having a job interferes with the enjoyment of them. Shooting out their tires interferes with their constitutional right to travel too. The homeowner here will be lucky to serve less than a life sentence.

What a monster. Does this on parole, and then gets in trouble for a makeshift knife in jail. Lock him up and throw away the key.

arraigned and released on pretrial release

Now the home owner gets to wonder when they're going to come back to his house with friends and weapons.

Hard to keep a 24-hour watch schedule by yourself.

NY - I’m surprised the homeowner wasn’t arrested for disabling their car....but the towns on the outskirts of Rochester tend to be more conservative than the Hellhole the city has become.

This being NY, surprised the homeowner wasn’t charged with brandishing and firing weapon.

Pretty soon, NY will probably be charging citizens stopping crime with felonious interference with the commission of a crime.

Shooting out the tires on the vehicle was a really dumb thing to do with a firearm. Bullets ricochet.
