In the run-up to Michigan’s hotly contested Democratic Senate primary last week, a slew of headlines declared the showdown a “fight for the party’s soul.” As cliches go, that wasn’t a bad one.
Leaving aside the issue of whether a political party has a soul, the framing worked because the candidates represented starkly different positions, backgrounds and styles. The outcome would thus reflect the party’s emerging values and agenda in a key swing state.
And so it did, but in a way that simultaneously makes Michigan look bad and illustrates how radicals are gaining the upper hand in the national party.

There's not much difference in practice between the mainstream Demwits and the jihadist radicals and/or DSA demagogues. America has shifted a lot in the last few years.
Mass immigration.
The weirdos (far left and LGBTQIA) were emboldened for 12 years under Obama and Biden.

Go talk to many young folks - they’re confused if Iran or we are the bad guys and they will immediately go to “brown people” and “imperialism / colonialism” as if those are arguments.
What was the “strategery” that Rush always talked about? Voting in the other party’s primary to get their worst candidate to the general election. Maybe R voters did that with El Sayed?
That is a very dangerous game to play.
And Islamic immigration is the driving force
Barry Zero’s pledge to fundamentally change America, in action folks.
At least one did. 😁
JMO but get the idea that particularly the MSM is exaggerating the Muslim primary victory that it is somehow the whole state when it is not, this makes MI sound like some country in the Middle East. It’s Detroit area shenanigans again that taint the rest of us.
The dems did poorly this round, Stevens is dumb as a pet rock and that’s the best they can do? Also get the feeling that this internecine war within the dem party is going to go on for many years, clearly they can’t ‘co-exist.’
Yes, they did that. Some admitted to it on FB, and maybe here on FreeRepublic, too. Agree, it is quite a gamble. It could backfire.
That dude is as queer as a $3.00 bill.
