We should thank mythomaniac Dr. Arday for giving us a 101 on how our institutions destroyed themselves
NY Post ^ | Aug. 8, 2026 | Dominic Green

Cambridge University is England’s second-best university, but it’s now bottom of the class. As the case of Jason Arday confirms, no one does dumb like the smart people.

In 2023, Cambridge made Arday a professor. He became the professorial chair of sociology and education. These fields produce politicized gibberish and call it scientific research.

Summary of Article

Dominic Green’s opinion piece criticizes Cambridge University for appointing Jason Arday as professor of sociology and education in 2023 (touted as its youngest Black professor) and uses the case to argue that elite institutions have undermined their own credibility through ideology-driven hiring and lax standards.

Arday, the son of Ghanaian immigrants who overcame autism, epilepsy, and dyslexia (and reportedly could not read or write until age 18), specialized in identifying racism in education. Universities and media celebrated an extraordinary personal narrative that included claims of running 30 marathons in 35 days (some with a fractured leg swollen to twice normal size, covering vast distances near world-record pace) and raising over £5 million for charity, plus later reports of racist threats (a knife attack and a pig’s head left at his parents’ door). Many of these claims lack supporting evidence and have crumbled under scrutiny.

A researcher’s analysis suggested his 2015 doctoral dissertation contained more than 100 passages lifted from a 2009 thesis; other research and achievements have also faced questions. Cambridge initially dismissed criticism as a “vile smear campaign” (Arday called it racially motivated; supporters framed it as an attack on influential Black people). When evidence became overwhelming, the university opened an investigation and Arday resigned the same day.

Green contends Arday supplied the fabrications, but universities, supervisors, referees, media, and publishers created demand by prioritizing identity and political utility over basic due diligence and academic rigor. He links this to a broader reproducibility crisis in social-science research (citing the SCORE project’s poor results on education papers) and argues such failures help explain real-world problems like declining literacy. The piece ends by calling for accountability from those who elevated Arday and sarcastically suggesting he be given tenure at Harvard.

Most university boards have fools on them; Cambridge, in this case, has all fools on their board. A new world record for that prestigious school of higher learing.

The college’s fame used to be limited to producing the Soviet Union’s most productive spies within MI-6.

Arday supplied the fakery, but the universities and media created the demand for it. Arday is not one bad apple in an otherwise sweet barrel. No, the whole thing is rotten, through and through.

Maybe the 'art' of producing USSR spies and fake academics comes easily to gullible egomaniacs. Or maybe they're so full of themselves they think they're American judges.

Totally independent of whether one believes in God, or Gods, or even their existence is the benefit of humility and the ability to say
“I am not God. I do not know.”

When God is removed from academia, from science, from any practice of knowledge, then it is human nature to lack perspective and lack humility and admit “I do not know”. “We do not know”.

All kinds of problems start from there.

In the 1950s the US emphasized “under God” in the pledge of allegiance. We emphasized “In Gold We Trust” on our money. Why? Did we suddenly become more Godly? No! We had just seen what the NAZIS and Hitler and what the COMMUNISTS and Stalin could do when believed in the perfectability of man where man could become like a god.

The whole US system of Constitutional restraint and checks and balances is based on the admission that our human nature is limited and defective and none of us have the wisdom of a God.

From what I have read, I got the impression that all the intelligence services did not vet people adequately. Agents should have always understood they were subject to investigation throughout their careers.

OMG - I always assumed that was a minimum standard... without it they might think they were wearing the ring of invisibility - Plato or Tolkien" - maybe both. But a warning of easy evil...

Wow, he overcame autism, epilepsy, and dyslexia. Reminds me of the guy who suffered from insomnia, agnosticism, and dyslexia. He would lie awake in bed all night wondering if there really is a dog.

The Cambridge elite their jobs at MI-6 through the “old boy network”. Spy agencies should always assume even though someone passes muster initially, they can be compromised later.

So many cities trip over themselves for the magical negro who will solve all the problems. Especially police chiefs. Portland budgeted twice as much as usual to get an imported u qualified black woman (bonus points) and lowere the star cards for her. First thing she did... Change the dress code so she could wear ridiculous glued on claws and her wig. She lasted anout two years until she cashed in on the next liberal city who paid her even more and ditched that one for another liberal city that paid more. This “professuh” knew exactly how to play the liberal white women who ran the Cambridge sociology department.

For the most part, the Soviet spies in the UK and US all got their start during WWII, when the USSR was our ally against Hitler.

All alliances are relationships of convenience for the parties involved.
