All things being equal, Darline Graham Nordone should have the opportunity to develop her own record and persona, both in her service as interim U.S. senator for the rest of 2026 and as a candidate for a full six-year term beginning next year. On the other hand, she owes her rather elevated starting point in politics entirely to her late brother, Lindsey Graham. (Her prior service on the South Carolina Commission for the Blind, while worthy, is at a different level of policy-making altogether). So you’d expect her to show some exceptional deference to the man who won the seat she holds. That is not, however, how she’s rolling, as the Washington Examiner reports:
When Sen. Darline Graham Nordone (R-SC) released her first campaign ad, she thanked South Carolinians for their prayers, President Donald Trump for his endorsement, and then stated her positions on three issues.
“I am a conservative Republican and I believe this,” she said, looking into the camera. “Every life is precious …”
“Men don’t belong in women’s sports,” she continued, affirming that under Title IX, where applicable, sports participation should be based on biological sex rather than gender identity.
“And only American citizens should vote in our elections,” Graham Nordone concluded, consistent with Trump’s push to pass the SAVE America Act and to purge noncitizens from voter rolls ahead of the midterm elections.
Missing was any reference to Iran, Ukraine, or any of the foreign-policy issues that animated her late brother during his 23 years in the Senate and more than three decades on Capitol Hill.
In other words, Graham is making it clear that, in her, South Carolinians are not getting a continuation of her brother’s distinctive service but a standard-brand conservative Republican...

Pretty standard issue. Darline has a primary to win, and foreign policy energizes primary voters the wrong way.
Nepotism is no more acceptable in 2026 than in 1776.
She is running on her own for SC voters to decide.
She’s not Lindsey. This is not surprising.........
Yet you have Murkowski! Ironic.
She has no record.
She is a pig in a poke. Only a fool would vote for that.
She also has two kids.
“Darline Graham Is Running Away From Lindsey’s Legacy”
She has VERY SMART advisors. But the elected record of Republican women is very, very, much against her...now coupled with a basically non-existent public record.
Was Murkowski’s late father just as hilariously murky as his daughter is now?
SC has a history of re-electing their senators many times.
I don’t know her, I’ve never met her, and I’m not at all plugged into South Carolina politics.
But, I do have some SC friends and I do read/follow some SC politicos - and there are a TON of whispers that Darline is basically a Democrat who loved her brother more than the rat party.
Way (way, way, way) too much smoke.
It would be a ridiculously bad idea for SC GOP primary voters to back her, I think. Norman or Lynch would easily be better choices. Heck, he’ll probably get 2% — but even with his two pronged set of of problems? Even Mark Sanford *does* at least limited government and fiscal bonafides.
I’m not a SC resident so my opinion means diddly, but Darline would be last on my list (yes, even behind Sanford).
Norman would probably be my top choice, either Fry or Lynch next.
But a complete unknown with lots of leftists whispers? Come on SC. You can do better than her.
Who wrote this?
A Ziocon traitor?
Her brother confided in her the shit show DC politic.
She attended many events and dinners with Lindsey and his coworkers and donors for decades.
I doubt she will win, but she’s not coming at this with zero knowledge.
(1) “Every life is precious …”
(2) “Men don’t belong in women’s sports,”
(3) “And only American citizens should vote in our elections
Wow! We could only find about 2 million other people in SC that would say that. They’re all about as qualified as her.
I shake my head at some of Trump’s endorsements.
Very few voters put put experience first, else incumbents would always win
Not sure. Rino type probably.
Not voting for another Graham. You shouldn’t be able to inherit a senate seat. Fry or Norman will be the nominee.
“Very few voters put put experience first, else incumbents would always win”
I don’t care about “experience” but I do care about having a public record.
Sounds like the islamocommie party(formerly the demoncrat party)is getting very nervous………
The dems are dying on the vine this summer.
Hopefully, she’s got good security.
