A new Irish government jet may struggle to land in bad weather, because it was ordered without key equipment from an Israeli firm, according to a report in Irish outlet The Journal.
The 53 million euro (61 million USD) Dassault Falcon 6X aircraft would normally include Elbit’s FalconEye low-visibility system, a system of cameras and censors that gives pilots additional information amid fog or darkness.
In August 2024, Ireland said it would no longer award Israeli companies defense contracts, citing an advisory opinion from the International Court of Justice against Israeli settlements in the West Bank.
According to the report, Ireland would have had to enter a written agreement with the Israeli company in order to have the system included, and “procurement officials determined this was a step too far.”
The Irish defense department has not confirmed or denied the absence of the system, but has said “there are no current limits on the operational capability of the aircraft.”
However, The Journal cites pilots as saying the lack of the FalconEye does limit pilots’ options for landing in foggy weather.

OVER RUN BY THE MUZZIES
Have the Irish been walked on enough through times to understand what it’s like to discriminate against Jews? Apparently not, or they are drunk as usual.
What is Ireland’s beef with Israel?
“… because it was ordered without key equipment from an Israeli firm…”
I heard this morning that the Irish removed it from the plane after delivery after they found out it had some Israeli equipment in it. I wonder if they would do the same with Chicom parts.
Be a shame if they crashed into the control tower in the fog.
They signed on to the BDS fad. Current leadership in Ireland tends left wing.
Cutting off their noses to spite their faces.
“ …a system of cameras and censors…”
Censors? Where are the editors?
“What is the matter with the Irish?!”
Do you want me start with my family? Or in general?
Also, do you have anything to drink? It will help you understand, either route you pick.
What? They don't want CNN on their plane?
“The founder of the Dassault industrial family, Marcel Dassault, was born to Jewish parents in 1892... Imprisoned by the Vichy regime and sent to the Buchenwald concentration camp by the nazis during WW2 due to his Jewish heritage after refusing to cooperate with the german aviation industry... Built Dassault Aviation into a premier aerospace and defense enterprise, passing the legacy to his son Serge Dassault, with subsequent generations of the family maintaining Jewish ancestry...” (from Wiki...)
“Be a shame if they crashed into the control tower in the fog.”
Ah, don’t worry. It’s never rainy, foggy, or overcast in Ireland more than 366 days a year.
Times of Israel; I guess English wasn't the writer's first language - or maybe they learned English from a book.
I wish I knew! I’m part Irish. I find it embarrassing.
The smart Irish all left the country.
Sounds like a personal problem for the Irish.
How come the Arabs have all the oil and the Irish have all the Whiskey?
The Irish had first choice!
Ireland is just lost, add it to the list.
