VALLEJO – Surveillance video captured a Vallejo police officer speeding past the fatal crash of a motorcyclist during a pursuit in the early morning of July 14, leading the motorcyclist’s family to question the police account of the incident.

The motorcyclist, identified as 43-year-old Marcus Kutterer, died at the scene of the crash.

A Vallejo Police department press release issued the day after the incident stated that the officer initiated the pursuit at 4:21 a.m. because Kutterer had been speeding and driving recklessly. According to police dispatch recordings, initially there were two motorcycles but one split off in a different direction.

In surveillance video obtained by the Vallejo Sun, the motorcyclist can be seen traveling north on Sacramento Street followed by a patrol vehicle with lights and sirens activated. Just as the motorcyclist leaves the frame, the impact of the crash is audible on the video.

Much more and video at the site.

Seems a career criminal, and also the son of a career criminal, both of whom have fathered children with several women, crashes his motorcycle under a truck during a high speed chase which the pursuing officer didn’t see given the distance and speed and the children are upset their estranged father is dead and feel the police are responsible and not their lifetime of incredibly bad decisions.

Simply wild twisted logic.

I could see it happening.

If the MC rider would have just pulled over instead of running.

Things would have turned out differently

Simply wild twisted logic.

Nah, it's perfectly reasonable logic seeing how the Bay Area likes to give seven figure settlements of taxpayer money to the families of criminals killed during police encounters while committing crimes.

It's called "winning the ghetto lottery" or I guess in this case after seeing a photo of the decedent, the "barrio lottery."

So he was in pursuit of two motorcycles. One stopped and wasn’t going to go anywhere anymore.

So he continues the chase after the second one.

What’s the problem?

The accident happened past a curve out of sight of the cop.

Off the roadway, the cop may have not seen him.

Looks to me like the pursuing officer didn’t even see the crash.

Court documents indicate that Kutterer has been convicted on multiple felonies related to possession of stolen vehicles and vehicle burglary, among other charges. He was on probation for his latest offense
