New York City’s mayor may not be welcome at events honoring the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, according to a new petition, but the mayor vows to be there anyway.
With 50,000 signatures as of Thursday morning, the petition lays out concerns with Mamdani’s statements and associates, though some of them are disputed.
Mamdani has been staunchly supportive of Palestinians, who he says have been unfairly bombarded by Israel in its war against Hamas, but critics argue Hamas gave Israel little choice. Though Mamdani has repeatedly called 9/11 a terrorist attack and reiterated that on Wednesday, his critics say they are unsure of his stance on Islamic terrorism more broadly.

The question to be asked of Mamdani is: Who attacked us on 9/11?
Naw you voted for him. sit in your mess and be lectured by him.
I would love to be there if only to hiss and boo him.

“Look, of course we should recognize and celebrate er I mean remember the 9/11 attacks.
Hey at least 20 muslims died in that attack and they should be remembered.”

My fearless prediction:
Mamdani will show up at the ceremony. It’s too great an opportunity for him to pass up.
He’ll start by talking about how people of different faiths must work together. Peace and love. He’ll end by saying anyone who connects 9/11 with Islam is a hater. He might even quote that fool, George W. Bush. “Islam is peace.”
(But of course 9/11 was all about Islam. Islam is the exact opposite of peace.)

NYC has a huge population! Even though he won the election, there are very many people who did not vote for him, and they do NOT want him at the upcoming 9/11 observance!
The rest of us, who did not live in NYC but were still affected by 9/11, also do not want him at any 9/11 observance!

I knew someone who was on one of the planes that was crashed into the World Trade Center!
And I stayed in the WTC hotel a few years before 9/11/01, when I was attending conferences in NYC!
