The Walt Disney Company has dramatically escalated its showdown with the Federal Communications Commission, accusing the agency of carrying out a politically motivated campaign on behalf of President Donald Trump that could strip broadcast licenses from some of Disney-owned network ABC’s biggest television stations.
In a 109-page filing, Disney argued the federal agency’s actions amount to retaliation over the entertainment company’s programming, including criticism of the president by late-night host Jimmy Kimmel and scrutiny surrounding Disney’s diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.
“The retaliation against ABC is a signal to every media company in the country: accommodate the Administration’s view of what news coverage should look like or pay the price,” Disney’s attorneys wrote in the filing. The dispute centers on the FCC’s decision earlier this year to launch an early review of the licenses for Disney’s eight owned-and-operated ABC stations, including KABC-TV in Los Angeles, WABC-TV in New York, as well as stations serving San Francisco, Fresno, Houston and Philadelphia.

OK, let’s go to court. Let’s decide in court that DEI = systemic racism.
They need to be fined for every penny of it.
I say let Disney do what they want. They are doing a bang up job of destroying themselves.
Put out the signal.
Calling Mickey, Donald, and Goofy.
We need your intellect!
Disney has been imploding for many years , it only puts out pervert training films
Disney (ABC) is using the airwaves for nothing (as are NBC, CBS etc) under the condition that their programing is for the good of the country and benefits the country. But ABC is programming anything but and is exceptionally biased in its programing and thus should not be allowed to use the airwaves for free and should be required to pay or not operate.
Methinks she doth protest too much.
FACTS RE. MY MANSIONS OF THE LORD VIDEO
In 2007, I sat at my computer for several hours and assembled one of my saddest and emotion evoking videos based on one of the most emotional & evocative war “HYMNS” ever composed,
“THE MANSIONS OF THE LORD”.
IT IS HERE ON YOUTUBE:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_WDrbbtaO0E
FYI, the photo at 1:34 is of my mother & wife as they saw my brother Karl (who joined the USAF with me) off to his duty station in the Azores.
The photo at 1:39 is my son having breakfast.
As of this writing (7/30/26), it has had over 246,000 views.
To my surprise, some equally moved folks have ALSO posted that video on Youtube. It moved me to know that others were sufficiently touched to do that.
To them I say “THANK YOU”!
But my OTHER, bottom line reason is that
IF WE FAIL TO STRAIGHTEN OUT OUR CURRENTLY DAMAGED CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC, WE’LL SOON BE SENDING MORE OF OUR KIDS, FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS TO
THE MANSIONS OF THE LORD!
Thanks for watching!

As of **January 1, 2024**, the original **1928 “Steamboat Willie” Mickey Mouse** entered the public domain in the United States.
That means you can use **that specific early version** of Mickey in new works without needing Disney’s permission.
### Still protected
Most versions of Mickey are **still under copyright**, including:
* The familiar red-shorts, yellow-shoes Mickey.
* Later cartoons and movies.
* Modern artwork and character designs.
* New stories featuring Mickey.
Each later version has its own copyright term.
### Trademarks still matter
Even though the 1928 version is in the public domain, **Disney still owns trademarks** covering Mickey Mouse.
That means you generally **can’t market your work in a way that suggests Disney made it or endorses it**. For example:
* ✅ You could create a new comic using the 1928 Steamboat Willie version.
* ❌ You couldn’t put Disney logos on it or imply it’s an official Disney product.
### In short
* ✅ **1928 Steamboat Willie Mickey:** Public domain.
* ❌ **Most later versions of Mickey:** Still under copyright.
* ✅ **Disney’s trademarks:** Still enforceable, so you must avoid creating confusion about the source or sponsorship of your work.
This is why you’ve recently seen horror films, games, and independent art featuring the original black-and-white Steamboat Willie version—but not the modern Mickey everyone recognizes from today’s Disney productions.
“Accommodation, or payback!” has long been the way most other administrations operated.
Just think of how Fox News was treated prior to the Trump era. During Biden and Obama years, Fox News was blasted as ‘work of the Devil’ by all other media.
The dispute over “The View” began after the show interviewed Texas Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico in February, prompting questions from the FCC about whether rival candidates were entitled to equal airtime under federal broadcast law.
Fun fact: At one time, Walt Disney was a Democrat. He later became a Republican.
Just like with Ronald Reagan.
Just like with Donald Trump.
With age comes wisdom.
If you’re lucky, I guess.
including criticism of the president by late-night host Jimmy Kimmel and scrutiny surrounding Disney’s diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.
Yes, let the Disney pedophiles sue.
Good! Take it to court Disney. I agree fight it out. That’s what you did against DeSantis and essentially lost.
I am a enormous supporter of free speech, but news sources are supposed to be neutral.
If ABC's headquarters is vaporized by an Iranian proxy bomb, it will just be the way it was that day.
The majority of Caucasian Americans have no idea how much large American cities where the networks get their employees have had their white populations displaced.
This is for London, but you can see the scale of displacement: ![]()
On the bright side, the networks' DEI hires normally are qualified for their jobs.

They say this as if it’s a bad thing....
109 pages is confirmation that what they write is pure BS...
Anyone who wastes their time reading this verbose BS, identifies themselves as a closet communist... IMHO...
pound those nail in hard dizzknee. And yet the clueless remain so. As before, maybe 15% of Americans have a clue.
