Iran is expected to receive within weeks a first shipment out of up to 400 Chinese-made shoulder-fired air-defence missile launchers, three sources familiar with the deal told Reuters, as it rebuilds its defences amid war with the United States.
The purchase, valued at $60-70 million, is one of Tehran's largest-known efforts to strengthen its short-range air defences since the outbreak of its war with the U.S. and Israel, which exposed gaps in Iran's ability to protect military sites and strategic infrastructure.
The contract covers the purchase of between 300 and 400 man-portable air defence systems (MANPADS), including Chinese-made QW-12 and FN-16 missiles, the sources said.
The deal was signed with Zhongqing Baoshang International Investment, a Hong Kong-based company that the sources said was acting as an intermediary between the Iranian side and the Chinese supplier.

The sources spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter. Iran's foreign ministry did not immediately reply to a request for comment.

Track the shipment and blow it up
Wait til they arrive in Iran.
Then after the ChiComs leave they get all blowed up.
Then the ChiComs can send more, for more target practice.
Reuters can barely contain their glee. They’re practically wetting themselves over Iran having shooting down our planes.
And still we trade with the chicoms and support their military industrial base.
I hope they’re like the pagers.

So much for Iranian OPSEC. We just watch for the imminent delivery and blow it all up. And keep blowing stuff up making it harder for them to come up with another $60-70 million to buy more weapons from our other enemies.

The problem is several land routes thru Pakistan. We are currently using them as intermediators in our “peace negotiations” w/Iranian officials.
We need to kill a lot of ragheads, and some chi-coms as well.
You cannot trust any news source.
You have to read the aggregate.
and the love fest between China and Iran goes on.
MANPADs are 50yr old tech.
And like a battle rifle, still effective.
China is a snake with many heads.
Some of those snake heads are non-venomous, and they don’t act on behalf of the venomous ones.
China likes to play.
They can play host to the Iranian refugees that enter via Pakistan and Afghanistan. That’s a nice game for China to play, especially with it’s empty cities. I am certain that the IRGC will cause no problems in China, ROFLOL.
It was American shoulder fired missiles that shot down enough Soviet planes in Afghanistan that they eventually lost that war. I hope the Chinese made versions are just as useless as their other air defense systems were.
