Far-right minister Itamar Ben-Gvir was among thousands who gathered at Jerusalem’s most sensitive holy site
Israel’s far-right minister of national security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, joined thousands of Jewish extremists who stormed Jerusalem’s most sensitive holy site on Thursday.
Escorted by armed police, they prayed, waved the Israeli flag and sang the national anthem in a provocative display of political power.
Under a fragile, decades-old agreement known as the status quo, non-Muslim prayer is banned at the site, known to Muslims as al-Haram al-Sharif compound and to Jews as the Temple Mount.
Ben-Gvir has eroded the agreement in recent years through a series of inflammatory visits to the compound, and unilateral changes to rules for Jewish visitors, including allowing them to bring prayers and printed religious material to the site.
He installed an ideological ally as the head of the Jerusalem police force in January, smoothing the path to greater changes.
In a statement, the Palestinian ministry of religious endowments and affairs said: “These provocative practices, emanating from the highest political levels of the occupying government, seek to ignite a religious war throughout the entire region.”
Israelis prayed on Thursday in parts of the compound close to al-Aqsa mosque and the seventh-century Dome of the Rock shrine.
Likud lawmaker Amit Halevi joined a group that raised Israeli flags and sang the national anthem, Haaretz reported, citing Israeli “Temple Mount” activists pushing for Jewish worship at the site.
In a social media post, Ben-Gvir wrote “we see enormous progress here”, and Jews praying there “feel like the owners”.
He has previously said he wanted to raise the Israeli flag at the compound and build a synagogue there.

Some will try to say this is an Islam vs Judaism issue when in reality it is a yes to Antichrist plus yes to Antichrist rebuilding the temple (or no to that) issue.
While some may believe the temple will be rebuilt, many, many others over the past two thousand years, back into the Early Church Foccus time period, say the temple Paul spoke of the Man of Sin sitting in is not the Jewish temple to be rebuilt.
On one side is God and on the other is Antichrist. God is opposed to Antichrist. Antichrist is antiJesus. Jesus would never want the Jewish temple to be rebuilt.
God may allow it to be rebuilt but allowing does not mean supporting, as God does not support sin. Antichrist is the Man of Sin, and he rebuilding it would be highly sinful.
Therefore, those Christian Zionists or not, should never support it be rebuilt even if God were to allow it to occur.
No one should ever support Antichrist on anything, even though Islam is a false religion.
But Reuters and NBC wrote they "visited" the temple mount.

As a non Muslim & non Jew I’m sick of these stupid blockheads & their “eye for an eye “ mentality that leads to eternal warfare & bloodshed.
Both groups should be cut off & isolated by the United States except for commercial and humanitarian endeavors.

Mindful of the tragedies which occurred during the "Three Weeks", it is customary not to eat meat or drink wine (except on Shabbat), not to do laundry except possibly for children, and to postpone home improvements or other enjoyable activities. You cannot get engaged or married, listen to music, buy new clothing--anything that brings you joy. On the 9th of the Hebrew month of Av (Tisha b'Av), you cannot eat or drink anything for 25 hours. Not even brush your teeth, use mouthwash, nothing per oral (unless prescriptions). On Tisha b'Av, you cannot wear leather shoes, jewelry, etc. You cannot, for the 9 days preceding Tisha b'Av, wear newly laundered clothing--you must put newly laundered clothing on the floor for a while before wearing, or wear it briefly, then remove it before wearing again. You cannot go swimming or use lawn-based sprinklers for the kids. You can't have marital relations. You can't apply lotions or perfumes either. Anything that brings joy or pleasure, you can't do. The fast day of Tisha b'Av is difficult, because it's usually very hot. I am grateful that the fast is over and we can eat and drink. Tomorrow, I will get a haircut for the first time in 3 weeks. I will do TONS of laundry as well. But my joy is not boundless; I look at the news on the internet and am reminded that the same evils which caused such tragedy thousands of years ago are still extant, mostly with the same cast of characters.
I hope all who observed Tisha b'Av had an easy fast and a good Shabbos!
