Businessman Mark Lynch, who ran against Lindsey Graham in the recent June primary, has announced his candidacy for the now open Senate seat in South Carolina. This comes as Rep. Ralph Norman says he will also run for the seat in the wake of Sen. Graham’s death. However, both candidates might be at a disadvantage after President Donald Trump publicly endorsed Darline Graham, Lindsey Graham's sister who was appointed to finish the remainder of his term. LiveNOW’s Alexandra Goldberg is speaking with GOP candidate Mark Lynch as he explains why he would be the best choice to follow in Sen. Graham’s footsteps in Washington, D.C.

I understand naming spouse or family member to finish a term, kind of a respect thing.
But to serve elected term, no way. She needs to fade away back to where ever she come from after January.
If people are going to vote for this woman that’s their right to do so. I can’t say I was particularly fond of Lindsey, and I don’t believe his next of kin should be entitled to his seat at all, and I certainly don’t believe that she should be able to run absent a primary contest. Acting as a placeholder for a couple of months is one thing, potentially becoming a member of the “cuffs or coffin” club is another. If you’re planning on voting for her, please do all the vetting you can, don’t just vote for her because daddy endorsed her.
Lynch should be the obvious choice. I wish him luck

If I lived in SC, I’d do the same. It’s cute that she was appointed for a short stint as an “honor” to LG. But that’s long enough. Ridiculous.

When PDJT put her name out, it was only in the context of completing LG’s term, I think. I don’t think it was for the permanent seat. (IDK for sure.)

FWIW: In her position as Commissioner of the South Carolina Commission for the Blind, she was the opposite of small government. Added many employees / positions, bumped up salaries for several including herself, and grabbed as much Federal money as possible for her organization.
(Heard on a podcast this morning. IDK if true.)
Why would Trump endorse Darline Graham? That makes no sense. She’s never done anything to deserve to be put in office.
