Harvard Law professor emeritus Alan M. Dershowitz was told by his attorneys that he could not legally testify before the House Government Oversight Committee on Monday, he said.
Dershowitz was scheduled to sit for an in-person, transcribed interview on his ties to the convicted sex criminal Jeffrey E. Epstein as part of the monthslong investigation into Epstein and his associates. Dershowitz, high-profile defense attorney, helped negotiate Epstein's controversial 2008 plea deal.
But his attorney has now reversed course, a spokesperson for the House Oversight Committee confirmed Friday, indicating to the committee that Dershowitz would not be present for the interview. The spokesperson said the committee had contacted Dershowitz's attorney to reschedule the interview.
The move is an about-face for Dershowitz, who for months publicly expressed interest in testifying before the House. Dershowitz even appealed directly to Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.), who chairs the Oversight Committee. (Dershowitz said he remained eager to testify)...

Interesting story to be happening through the chaff of all the shooting with Iran.
In another ruling the California Supreme Court ruled that Alan Dershowitz is quote “one ugly bas****,”
What’s your deal with these two degenerate jews? Lol. Keep’em coming!
His lawyer is better than the old man is now, I would guess.
He still has attorney-client privilege.
Two destructive figures (for different reasons) on a private jet.
Huh?
“It is unclear what legal obligations stand in the way of his testimony. Dershowitz’s attorneys did not immediately respond to a request for comment.”
I suppose we’ll find out why sooner or later.
It won’t be so bad for Mr. Dershowitz, there’s probably a prison law library.
Dershowitz did his job.
Does attorney-client privilege extend after the client has died? The “client” also known as Epstein can’t be harmed because Epstein died in 2019 and estate issues of Epstein should have been resolved before 7 years passed after his death. The IRS is curious if all the estate’s assets aren’t distributed within 2 years of someone’s death. The IRS may want to investigate if the estate still has assets for over 2 years.
It’s possible that one of Dershowitz’s clients may have revealed something to Dershowitz about Epstein and Dershowitz doesn’t want to reveal this information if this puts Dershowtiz’s client in legal trouble.
Correct. . Attorney client privilege does not expire with death of the client. Swidler & Berlin v. United States SCOTUS decision.
EC
Quite possibly he cannot because the SDNY office put this in the immunity papers when they whitewashed the Epstein trials. The SDNY has been covering for commies and pedo for years. Nothing to do with Jews, all NYC power brokers who like little kids.
Just because the client is dead doesn’t mean aspects of the atty-client privilege is dead
That's assuming Epstein is dead.
Aren’t Noam and Hildebeast good friends? Book dedications/forwards and such?
