Could find a text article. Man shot deputy who was pointing a gun at his brother and had fired at the shooter. Deputy was in an unmarked car without a siren and in plain clothes. Deputy claimed he hadn't fired his weapon, but evidence shows he had. Charges were dropped due to surveilance video and other evidence. A few years ago, shooter would have been in deep trouble. Shooter had long criminal record. Both shooter and deputy are black.

If true, sounds justified.

By Fred Astaire.
And oh! If we ever part,
Then that might break my heart!
So, if you like pajamas and I like pajahmas,
I’ll wear pajamas and give up pajahmas.
For we know we need each other
So we better call the calling off.
Let’s call the whole thing off.

Yeah, well, he got mixed up with what order to say things. Stop, police, drop your weapon or I will shoot. Now mix those up and you have a problem. Well, stop, shoot, drop your weapon, oh hell, whatever.

If one yells, Defund the Police, during the shooting, they have full immunity.

deputy said ‘police’ only after he was shot
= = =
Carve ‘police’ in the front of every cop bullet.
This way the ‘victim’ will the police warning before he is shot.

“Both shooter and deputy are black.” I’m speculating they knew each other.

Yep. Anybody can yell, “Police”, but the line has to be drawn somewhere.
That said, yelling “Police” after you shoot, while an understandable happening in the heat of the moment, still doesn’t count.

With adrenaline, sequence of events often gets scrambled. Sucks, but it is still an error, which in this case mattered.

Walking in on a black guy dressed in plainclothes in the hood holding a gun on another black buy while not yelling “police”. Reasonable man thought bubble says that scene happens every night in the ghetto and 499 out of 500 times, it is not the police. I’m going with honest mistake on that one.

There is a problem using unmarked cars and plain clothes and pointing guns at people. Yes ... it's a guaranteed way for public servants to get ventilated ... and deserve it.

“Anybody can yell police.”
Yes, and that might save anybody from getting shot.
However, if you actually ARE the police, you can’t expect police protection unless you are in uniform or announce you are the police.
