Poland has resumed deportations to Afghanistan despite protective measures ordered by the European Court of Human Rights, local media reported on Monday.
According to daily Dziennik Gazeta Prawna, three Afghan nationals were taken from a guarded detention center to the military section of Krakow-Balice airport in April.
They were flown on a military aircraft, accompanied by more than a dozen Polish Border Guard officers to Tashkent via Tbilisi.
Poland’s Commissioner for Human Rights has been investigating the deportation.
The Border Guard knew that interim measures had been issued in the cases of at least two of the three men who were ultimately deported, the commissioner said.
According to the ombudsman’s office, lawyers informed the Border Guard of the Strasbourg court’s decisions around 90 minutes before the deportation operation began, with receipt of the documents confirmed by the authorities.
Poland removed Afghanistan in 2025 from a list of countries to which forced returns had been suspended, reopening a route that requires what the government describes as “technical contacts” with the Taliban administration, which Warsaw does not officially recognize.
Poland has tightened controls on its border with Belarus and introduced restrictions on access to asylum, arguing that Russia and Belarus have weaponized migration as part of a hybrid campaign
Human rights organizations and the Polish ombudsman have warned, however, that deportations to Taliban-controlled Afghanistan risk violating the principle of non-refoulement, which prohibits returning people to countries where they face a real risk of persecution, torture or inhuman treatment.
The daily reported that further deportations require technical cooperation with the Taliban authorities, highlighting the contradiction between Poland’s refusal to recognize the Taliban government and the practical contacts needed to carry out forced returns.

Throw out the trash
Poland maybe the only country in Europe to survive the mohammedan onslaught. Jan Sobieski will rise again, we pray.
Be Like Poland!
Deport them and cut all satellite and internet access for the entire country.
And it will pay for decades to come.
In the 1980s the self help speaker Jim Rohn used to praise our free system and say “You never hear about someone saying I could make it if only I could sneak into Poland.”
Apparently even Poland has people to deport now.
European Safeguards? Poland is exercising safeguards FROM European insanity.
Poland is just doing its best to keep Poland Polish.
Unlike the UK where the Brits, the Scots and Welsh are disappearing more and more with each passing year. In a few decades the UK will become full of nothing but refugees who speak different languages and live in closeted communities of their own making... The United Kingdom will turn into an Un-united Refugee zone, with France and other European countries shipping their unwanted refugees there.
The Island nation that maintained its sovereignty for over a thousand years will become a complete sh*thole in just a matter of a few decades. Sad, but true.
Excellent. Get them out. Don’t care what the Yurps say. Get them out.
It ends with Israel.
Apologies to those who are unable to see it.
