The words “improvised” and “machine gun” should never appear in the same sentence. That’s just asking for it.
The incident highlights the increasingly improvised methods Russia has adopted to defend supply convoys from Ukrainian drones.
Military units have begun creating so-called “mobile fire units,” mounting heavy weapons on trucks to shoot down incoming unmanned aircraft before they reach fuel and ammunition convoys.
The Yak-B is capable of firing thousands of rounds per minute and was engineered for heavily reinforced helicopter mounts designed to absorb its enormous recoil
However, mounted on a lightly modified truck, the weapon proved difficult to control.
The footage has prompted fresh scrutiny of Russia’s frontline improvisation as Ukrainian drone strikes continue to target logistics hubs, supply routes, and military infrastructure deep behind the front lines.
I commented elsewhere on this story that Russia is never going to beat The Ukraine in a war. It is over, Putin needs to negotiate an orderly withdrawal of all of the occupied territories. The Ukrainians will be taking these guns out a week after they show up on the rear lines to try to protect their supply roads.
They have now hit 90 ships in the Sea of Azoz in six days. 90. I would have assumed at there were probably half that number in the whole of the Sea of Azoz and the Black Sea.
They are attacking supply lines, oil refineries, oil storage depots, aircraft and SAM systems at will. They do not need to fight on the front lines as they are decimating Russia’s ability to fight.
I suspect those front lines will begin to collapse in the next several weeks. Some are already.
Why?
Those Russians were retards.
That is one of the funniest damn things I’ve ever seen… Almost as good as the chimpanzee with the AK-47… And the dumbass Groids scattering.
Reminds me of our mounting a 21 shot 2.75” rocket pod on a mount in the back of the ordnance truck.
Took it up into the hills to a ‘yard village where out SNCO knew the SF guy.. Single shots were fine, just a bit of rocking back from the exhaust.
Decided to go ripple fire and empty it.
Damn thing started kicking back, higher with each shot
Pretty soon it was shooting up maybe 45 degrees.
The people were loving it, with the noisy ignition and the following detonation on a hillside about a half mile away.
No aiming it, just loaded it and pointed in a safe direction. Sure as heck on one in the truck bet with the damn thing.
A perfect physics lesson right there. Torque equals r cross F. 😂
The elevation is fine Starshiy Serzhant, but the traverse needs to be tightened. A lot.
Damn.
That was funny.

The very un-merry go round.

I’ve seen video of Russian conscripts carrying mosin-nagants. I have one, paid $150 for it.

Friendly fire isn’t.
You went off there rails there. Russia will likely keep Crimea and some of their gains in Donbas, because neither side has the military assets left to eject the other, and NATO isn't going to do the deed. There are benefits for America to let the stalemate continue: the rise of conservatism in European politics, the sales of American LNG, the real world testing of military AI and robotics by proxy. China is benefiting immensely selling products to everyone, and having Russia economically dependent. Europe is further less competitive to America on all fronts, resulting in a drain of Europe's best businesses and young workers. Putin's war seemed very stupid from a western perspective, but so is Trump's Iran war.
The Czar's chief military commander ordered less than 5% of the bullets needed by his troops, despite a 5 year head start in planning. I don't think they have changed one bit. Never underestimate the uselessness of the Russians.
I haven’t read that book since I was a teen, I bought a copy this year and will be rereading it with different eyes.
Hold my vodka...
Russia and Ukraine should send the soldiers home and let the drones fight is our.
