Due to a key vote by U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski, the one-year ban on federal funding for Planned Parenthood expired on July 4, meaning the abortion giant can resume consuming hundreds of millions in taxpayer dollars through Medicaid reimbursements for non-abortion-related services. Without this funding, the entity has struggled to keep its nationwide network of abortion clinics operational.
While Murkowski continues to identify as a Republican, she has long supported federal funding for Planned Parenthood and regularly joins Democrats in efforts to ensure the abortion business benefits from taxpayer dollars.
Last year, pro-life advocates celebrated when the Republican-controlled Congress narrowly approved the Medicaid funding ban in the One Big Beautiful Bill. While the original aim was to exclude the abortion behemoth from Medicaid reimbursements for the next decade, one year is all GOP lawmakers could pass.
At that time, Murkowski cast the deciding vote to pass the budget bill that included the 12-month funding ban. Before the vote, however, she sided with Democrats in an attempt to keep the funding spigot flowing for the abortion company. When that effort failed, Murkowski ultimately agreed to vote with her GOP colleagues in favor of the overall spending package.
This past April, though, Murkowski was actively opposed and voted against an attempt by Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) to extend the Planned Parenthood Medicaid funding ban to 2035. Murkowski joined fellow left-leaning GOP Senator Susan Collins (R-ME), and all Senate Democrats present to vote against the Hawley amendment, which was defeated in a narrow 50-48 vote.
Pro-life activists are now urging lawmakers to resume the battle to extend Planned Parenthood’s Medicaid funding ban, noting that failure to do so will result in the company standing to gain more than $600 million in taxpayer dollars this fiscal year.
One option would be to include the ban in the next reconciliation bill, which would primarily focus on defense spending, but also many other smaller programs.

You can bet that 1/2 of this funding will land in her and other demoncRAT coffers and a lot will be handed out under the table too. This is a disgrace.

And spare us the economic sob stories. This is the United States, not Somalia (not yet, anyway). Poverty here is luxury in much of the rest of the world. There is no personal economic hardship that would justify murdering an adult, who at least can attempt to defend themself. So how much more heinous is it to murder the defenseless, just so you can have an easier life?
Have you seen these women? Laz would not hit them so why do they need abortion?
