A Pennsylvania State trooper was killed by an illegal immigrant trucker who entered the country under the Biden administration and obtained a commercial driver’s license from Massachusetts while refusing to leave the country.
Trooper Michael E. Pahira, Jr., 44, was inspecting a semitruck on Interstate 81 in Schuylkill County at about 7 a.m. Wednesday when another truck went off the roadway and hit the first vehicle, creating a domino effect and striking the officer, state police said.
Pahira’s patrol car was parked behind the cab with its emergency lights on as he inspected the vehicle parked on the right shoulder in Cass Township when the deadly chain reaction occurred, according to officials.

While we’re at it, let’s indict the moron in the Pennsylvania State Police leadership who thought it was a good idea to have troopers conduct commercial vehicle inspections along the shoulder of a limited-access highway.
Aren't they supposed to check their driver logs to make sure they are getting the proper rest?

All the way back about 1990, I went on a bus tour throughout Europe. All trucks and buses had some kind of a disc in them that recorded when they were being operated, how fast they were going, etc.. periodically, the disc (every day, week?) had to be turned in to someone so that the driver could continue being licensed.
The bus was not allowed to run its air conditioner when it was stopped. After every rest stop, the bus was extremely hot when we got back on, but it cooled down fast with powerful air-conditioning. When I used to live near DC and visited downtown quite often, I would see the Mall lined with big tour buses running their motors all day long so the driver could sit in Air Conditioning. It simply does not match what the environmentalists claim that they want. Hopefully that is no longer happening.
If the technology could do that back in 1990, surely there is something that can be automatically recording and remotely reporting what the big rigs are doing in this country every minute they’re moving. I do not believe that politicians like policies that penalize everyone who breaks the law the same. They like to be able to give special favors to their preferred groups.
Doing a full CMV inspection on the shoulder of an active roadway with a posted speed limit of 65 mph is absolutely retarded, in my humble (and professional) opinion.
