"As NBC News reports, the account is called "ZnotluvuiSamez," and features the Ukrainian flag as its profile picture. The account made multiple big bets surrounding the Russo-Ukrainian war, including $409,000 on a contract that asks if "Putin out as President of Russia by December 31, 2026?"
According to users' overall bets, there's currently a "11 percent chance" that Putin will be out by the end of the year.
Of course, a massive bet is far from a guarantee that Putin will no longer be president, whether through an ouster or a decision to step down. For one, Putin isn't up for reelection until four years from now — and given the country's track record, it's not like the democratic process is being in any way respected regardless.
The news comes after Moscow was hammered by renewed Ukrainian drone strikes, with former US defense secretary Leon Panetta telling NewsNation on Wednesday that "it's clear right now that Putin is cornered in this situation and is not quite sure what to do."
"He obviously ought to, frankly, negotiate some kind of ceasefire, but knowing Putin, he will continue to resist that, and Russia is going to pay the price," he added.
Ehile there's no evidence to suggest an imminent ouster, the sheer amount of insider trading on Polymarket lends the enormous bet at least some credence.
At the same time, the war in Ukraine is showing no sign of letting up, with Putin ruling out any future peace talks. In other words, it's not looking likely that the president will simply hang up his coat in the middle of a raging conflict — and after over 26 years of ruling Russia with an iron fist."

A £100m super-yacht believed to be owned by Vladimir Putin is fleeing Europe to avoid Ukrainian drone attacks.
The 82m Graceful is traversing the coast of Norway on course to reach the northern Russian port of Murmansk in the coming days, according to maritime intelligence data and satellite imagery analyzed by The Telegraph.
It is sailing under the escort of two Russian naval vessels and under the watchful eye of Nato.
The yacht has been pictured sailing with anti-drone nets covering its deck.
It is being shadowed by a heavily armed Russian I-class destroyer, the Severomorsk, as well as a 7,500-ton Russian salvage and patrol ship, the Voevoda, in the latest demonstration of Putin’s growing paranoia.
The convoy is being monitored by Nato, while German and Danish Navy patrol ships shadowed the vessels on their voyage through the Baltic, according to a senior Nato source.
Putin is understood to have taken numerous trips aboard the yacht, including a 2021 voyage in the Black Sea with Alexander Lukashenko, the president of Belarus, according to US government filings.
The vessel is equipped with both saltwater and freshwater pools, a helipad, gym, and secure government communications systems.
It was relocated from the Blohm & Voss shipyard in Hamburg, Germany, to the Russian shipping enclave of Kaliningrad 17 days before Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.

Four months later, the US designated the yacht as blocked property under sanctions, forcing the vessel to rename itself the Kosatka, meaning “Killer Whale” in Russian.
I think a 3 week war that turned into a three year war was enough to remove him. Somebody might have a good idea of the timing, however.

That doesn’t make sense, how is it “Putin’s downfall” if he just steps down and gives to another one in his circle of the same mindset?
I’ve been hearing that ‘the walls are closing in’ on either Putin or Zelensky since the beginning of the war.
Not that I don’t want the walls to close in on one or the other just to end the carnage of their citizens.
The people of Russia and Ukraine don’t have much input in how they are utilized right now. The only way they can take control is to flee their homeland, hope they don’t get caught, hope their families are not revenge/punished in the style of North Korea.

Last week, Moscow residents looked up at black smoke hanging over the city as Ukrainian drones buzzed overhead.
It was Ukraine’s largest drone attack on the Russian capital since Russia launched its full-scale invasion in 2022. Hundreds of flights were delayed or cancelled, while a major oil refinery on the city’s outskirts was repeatedly struck and set ablaze.
“If Ukraine is going to burn, your Moscow will burn too,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
The latest wave of strikes has brought the war much closer to home for many Russians, disrupting daily life and eroding their sense of safety.
Analysts say the attacks may deepen domestic anxieties as the war drags on. But whether that discontent will loosen Russian President Vladimir Putin’s grip on power — or provoke him into escalating further — remains unclear.
