The city of Buffalo will not be hosting a fireworks display this year for the Fourth of July.
A city spokesperson said an appropriate site to hold a safe and widely accessible display was not identified.
"The administration had been in discussions with local business leaders to plan a Fourth of July fireworks event for the City of Buffalo. After exploring potential locations, an appropriate site could not be identified that would provide a safe and widely accessible viewing experience for residents. As a result, the City will not be hosting a downtown fireworks display this year," a city spokesperson said in a statement.
The city encourages people to enjoy one of many other celebrations across Western New York, such as the Buffalo Bisons firework display this Friday at Sahlen Field.
"We encourage Buffalo residents to enjoy the many Independence Day celebrations taking place throughout Western New York, including the fireworks display at Sahlen Field on July 3," the statement continued.

Source: X, by End Wokeness (@EndWokeness). BREAKING: Buffalo City Hall in NY raises a Somalia flag 1 day after canceling July 4th fireworks
Grok confirms: "Yes, Buffalo hosted a temporary ceremonial Somali flag raising today (July 1) in front of City Hall for Somalia Flag Day / Independence Day. Niagara District Council Member David Rivera invited the community to recognize local Somali residents’ heritage and contributions. It’s a one-day cultural observance, like other heritage flag events. Separately, Buffalo skipped downtown July 4/America 250 fireworks this year after officials said no suitable site was available. The events are unrelated."

Can gay month be shut down next year? Sounds like a plan.
I think Buffalo had fireworks for the 1976 Bisontennial.

Uh, I man Bicentennial.
I wish we did not have fireworks, my dog is terrified
Photo....
Reminiscent of BLM antifa members raising the Somali flag at Iwo Jima.*
But not of Trump hugging the American flag.
* In current public school lessons right after Barack Obama freed the slaves the first year of his terms in office.
What a disgrace!
A direct attack on the concept of the United States...
I’d suggest DJT divert some of those airstrikes on Iran...
The real enemy is within the walls!
Its the problem with being a poor, rust-belt, migrant city in a one-party Democrat state.
There’s never money for anything.
RE: I wish we did not have fireworks, my dog is terrified.
Our dog in the 1970s used to run next to our bed and hope we would save him from fireworks.
Odd because the rest of the time he egged on rival dogs to come over and fight with him while I walked him. I started carrying a stick.
Unless it’s one of the pet projects favored by the libtards.
Buffalo, NY Drought Index and Current Conditions
As of the latest NYSDEC update, New York’s Drought Region I — which includes Buffalo — is in a Drought Warning stage, indicating intensified voluntary water conservation is recommended New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. Maybe that’s why.
I feel the same. My neighbor has a theater room that is below ground. He’s letting us bring the dogs over to watch the fireworks on TV , sound on low.

Instead Buffalos will give be every Muslim family $1,000,000.00.
I guess the rest of New York state can quit saying that New York City is causing all the problems.
What did they do for Juneteenth?
My cats just ignore it.
You say there’s never money for anything??
Buffalo had a lot of money to celebrate Juneteenth

Because they hadn’t been able to find a venue before?
Obviously, this is nothing but a USA hating council that wants nothing to do with the 250 year celebration - because they’re still Somali.
Our city leaders sent out an email about how traumatic fireworks are for many of our veterans. Fireworks are legal for private citizens to fire off. They’ve already started and pop that stuff till late. Sorry for your dog.
