July 1 (Reuters) - Ukraine has struck a Russian oil refinery in the city of Ufa, more than 1,300 km (800 miles) from the frontline for the second time, President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Wednesday, as Kyiv steps up its strikes deep in Russia.
"Every day, our plan for imposing Ukrainian long-range sanctions is being implemented," Zelenskiy said on X, referring to Ukrainian attacks deep inside Russian territory.
"This is an entirely just response to everything Russia is doing against us."
Zelenskiy also reported a strike on what he said was a "strategic" Russian military-industrial facility in the Penza region, involved in making components for missile weaponry used by Moscow in attacks on Ukraine.
The distance to the site was about 600 km from the frontline, he said.
Ukraine's military General Staff named the plant as part of Russian state space corporation Roscosmos. It said it makes sensors for cruise and ballistic missiles, components for aircraft avionics, and equipment for reconnaissance satellites.

How does this affect gas prices here?

When is his next shopping trip to the West or some NATO conference?
Can’t be to far off if he does this.

The Russia Military Special Olympics have been an amazing combination of hubris and incompetence.
It’s Wednesday. It’s about time for Medvedev to threaten nuclear war again.

Irrelevant question.

His shopping trips, to wherever and whenever, are apparently having major success. Putin does not appreciate it when Zelensky goes shopping.
And, hey, he's not just shopping; he's also going on sales trips. (Guess what he's got to sell).

How so?
It either does or it doesn’t, but oil and gas are globally fungible, and refineries are crucial to its availability.
Without explanation, your comment is irrelevant.

Good one.
The Ukrainians are the ones scoring the most 'goals'. Every time a Russian is taken out of the action, Ukraine gets to shout, "GOAL!!!". Ukraine has done the 'goal' shout almost 3 million times. Russia won't ever get close to their 'goal' in Ukraine.

Nobody refines oil in Russia and then imports the refined products to the US. It's just not economically competitive.
So, what happens in Russia has NO effect on US gas prices.
Proof: If it did, then gas prices would have been higher before Feb. 28th, when Trump attacked Iran - THAT'S what has been driving up US gas prices lately,
not the war in Ukraine.
So, let's all enjoy watching one of America's enemies get ground down!

That war has virtually nothing to do with the price of oil. It was started by Putin to take over its neighbor. When the invasion occurred in 2022, fuel prices were not affected. Fuel prices were already high because of the stupidity of Biden and democrats.
Russia's oil does not affect the prices at the pump for Americans. The Iranian 'crisis' does change things here at home, not Russia. Since Russia was never a factor in our fuel prices, YOUR question is still irrelevant.
Your question is equivalent to asking: How does the World Cup affect the prices I pay for my shoes. If you want to ignore the war in Ukraine, fine, but your question is nonsensical to why it's being fought.

That’s not true. Oil is fungible globally. Without mentioning Russia at all, that is still true.
India and other countries have been getting Russian oil and gas shipments illegally, but they still got them. If the Russians can send none, then countries like India and others violating sanctions will be affected.
What then happens is they buy oil from other places, such as the USA. This is exactly why our gas went up during the Iranian conflict. It isn’t Iranian oil or Persian Gulf we need or import, but other do and that affects the price at home as we sell more.

These Ukrainian attacks have only recently caused major damage to Russia’s ability to refine oil. The biggest strikes were on May 17 and June 3 in Moscow and St Petersburg, but the recent strikes this past two weeks have been massive and far ranging.
The effects of this have been hidden in the Iran war data, but it all has a cost on global oil prices.
I ain’t taking sides in this stupid war, but I do care about the price of gas. I don’t want to see last minute pile ons by speculators trying to make cash on the global markets.
You can say the Ukraine war affects us in the USA only minorly, but the price of oil is in fact global.

Russia has confirmed its government is currently in negotiations with other countries to purchase gasoline while desperately seeking to stabilize its domestic market after months drone mayhem out of Ukraine. "Discussions are actively being held," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said at a press briefing Tuesday, though without specifying which countries. "If agreements can be reached at acceptable price points, then [imports] will move forward," he added.
