An Albanian man’s pain grew so unbearable, he said, he pulled out his own tooth as he languished for months in a New Mexico immigration detention center. A Honduran mother of two said she was hospitalized for a heart problem after she was denied blood pressure medications while held in Florida. A Venezuelan man said his leg grew purple and swollen from flesh-eating bacteria when staffers at a Vermont facility did not bring him to a scheduled doctor appointment.
Hundreds of detainees across at least 33 states allege in federal suits that immigration detention facilities are failing to provide adequate medical care, an investigation by KFF Health News and The Associated Press found. Detainees say they didn’t get medications on time — or at all — for conditions including high blood pressure, diabetes, depression, epilepsy, Parkinson’s, and HIV. Requests for help went unanswered for weeks. Blood sugars rose. Infections festered. Cancers remained untreated. Detainees collapsed and had seizures.

But DETENTION CENTERS are a bad idea of the Babe Noem era that should go with Noem. DETENTION CENTERS immediately open a can of worms with both violation of RIGHTS and sob stories and bad press that can only hurt our side.
Plus, DETENTION CENTERS are very expensive. The cost and those who run them are a political liability. We are in debt. We cannot afford this extra expense.. especially since the Noem legacy is not money well spent.
Too damn bad.
I do not believe
But then again I DO NOT CARE.
Don’t like it. Go back to your home.
They should’ve stayed where they came from.....
Pi$$ on him, GO THE HELL HOME AND LET YOUR WORTHLESS COUNTRY WORK ON YOUR PROBLEMS. WHY, WHY THE HELL ARE WE, THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, RESPONSIBLE FOR THE WHO DAMNED WORLD????

Well, I’ll agree that hurt and was even a health threat.
I’ll ask: What would have ‘they’ done in Albania? Pulled your tooth? Given you pliers? Or?
Be glad your tooth is out, and you are not dead.
There is a simple solution for these people: Go home and get the fantastic medical care that their home countries provide. Easy, peasy.
wah. 😢
Yes, it would be nice not to need detention centers. Perhaps we should simply issue plane tickets to all those under deportation orders, with instructions on when to report for their flights. That should work.
they can go home anytime they wish and get all the great socialist health care their home countries provide!
Don’t enter our country illegally. Now, GTFO.
awwwwwwwwwww poor damn thing..here’s an idea, why the hell are we even paying for them in detention..here’s an idea, you arrest them and you DEPORT THEM ON THE SPOT
I don’t believe any of this ridiculous propaganda.
I wonder what the medical care is in their own shithole countries.
I am glad there are examples being set all around.
Shocking! Did they also complain about no Puerto Nuevo Lobster being served??
I don’t believe the man pulled his own tooth, I am pretty sure they do not let you have pliers while in detention.
when I was 19 I had impacted lower wisdom teeth, the dentist said he could not do it and I needed to go see some specialist, fortunately my neighbor had some nice extraction forceps and had no problems pulling them both for me.
Go home and see what kind of medical care you’ll get. Ingrates!

Sounds like what Jan 6 prisoners endured. I don’t want to hear it!
The courts have mandated “due process”. How do you keep the deported from disappearing absent a detention center?
