California leaders cheer Supreme Court ballot ruling while eyeing other ways to speed count

California officials cheered a U.S. Supreme Court ruling Monday that allows states to continue counting mail ballots postmarked by election day but received in the days after — calling it a win for voter participation and access, including in the upcoming November midterm.

They also acknowledged delays in recent vote counting have spurred frustration, and promised to speed the process through other solutions — including by investing millions into new election infrastructure and vote processing capabilities.

Gov. Gavin Newsom — who called the court ruling a “win for voters, plain and simple” — has previously said the state should be able to count ballots faster, and his latest budget includes $29 million for “increased staffing, technology and equipment upgrades and purchases for counties,” $10 million for voter education and outreach at the state and county levels and $750,000 for combating election misinformation.

The court decision, a loss for President Trump and other critics who contend such policies contribute to unacceptable delays in vote counting, specifically upheld a Mississippi policy to accept mail ballots received within five business days of an election.

But it also lets stand similar policies in other states — including California, which counts ballots postmarked by and received within seven days of an election.

California Secretary of State Shirley Weber, who has long prioritized voter participation over a speedy count, called...

Stay in your lane, LA Times, the Babylon Bee will handle the satire.

Fascinating that on election night the "results" are updated every 30 seconds but it takes a month to update the "late" ballots. Depending on how far the demonicRAT candidate is behind.

Years ago in Florida Broward and Miami Dade Counties, those counties were the last to report and it took days and invariable they came in for the democrat. Then DeSantis was elected and he fired those in charge of those counties — and amazingly, they were able to count the vote the same night and often came in before the other areas of the state — and Republicans managed to win some. So, the long voting is nothing more than a ploy to keep counting until the numbers are what the democrats want. It is pure and simple cheating. Broward and Miami Dade Counties are a perfect example showing counting can be done on election day with honest people in charge.

My favorite part is when the Republican count decreases by the same amount the Democrt count increases in real time on live TV.

Kansas City and St. Louis do the same thing in Missouri.

They wait to see how many manufactured votes the need.

Congress can fix this. SCOTUS tells them how in every ruling.

Look at the LA Mayor’s race for a perfect example of fraud:
Nithya V. Raman.

Can a postmark be faked?

What am I saying? California will accept mail-in ballot without postmarks. Anybody challenging them will have no standing.

Rinse, repeat.

The vote fraud opportunities in California were obvious when I registered voters in the 1970s. There was no process for checking the accuracy of the information that an applicant was telling you (I did get my 25 cents per voter though).

It was obvious in the 1980s when a vacant house in the neighborhood received ballots for 6 residents who didn’t live there, and probably never had. (California was the first State to allow everyone to request a mail ballot without a valid reason)

It was obvious when Loretta Sanchez’s 1996 margin of victory over Bob Dornan included hundreds of votes registered at the Hermandad Mexicana Nacional, an illegal alien support group.

It was obvious in 2018 when ballot harvesting was invented in California.

One common element in all of this has been the brainless indifference of the GOP to massive election fraud.

John Thune is not a rarity, he is the poster boy for the GOP stupidly assisting vote fraud.

“Congress can fix this. SCOTUS tells them how in every ruling.”
___________________________________________________________

“Fixing it” means either legislation or a Constitutional amendment. Both require some level of cooperation that Congress doesn’t seem to have anymore.

“Look at the LA Mayor’s race for a perfect example of fraud:
Nithya V. Raman.”

This is a case of the Democratic Socialists of America (Nithya Raman) looking to knock off the Democrat (Karen Bass).

The DSA name fools a lot of people. It’s the same party that Zohran Mamdani belongs to. Like Momdani, Raman is a foreign import and way more of a communist than actual Castro fan girl Karen Bass.

That’s why postmarks after the polls close at 8pm should be disallowed.

Trump should ask republicans to submit their mail in ballots the day before Election Day so the dims can’t pull this crap.

“What am I saying? California will accept mail-in ballot without postmarks. Anybody challenging them will have no standing.”

Correct. California ballots have a ‘BRE’, a prepaid Business Reply Envelope. And those go through the postal system without receiving a cancellation mark.

For a routine business transaction this a good system. For voting this leaves no evidence of when the envelope was mailed, or if it ever was mailed.

They'll have the franking machine with the election date programmed in and ready after they figure out how many more ballots are needed to flip any election to the Democrat.

Stamp 'em, send off - counted as legitimate votes.

And, best of all - no ID needed to vote.

Legitimate California ballot. Not. Kidding:

I agree totally. Karen Bass is to be preferred to the foreign born and bred Kerala Nithya Kommie Raman.

Just to note, Nithya's home State of Kerla, India is run by the Communist Party: Kerala Is Still the Stronghold of India’s Communist Movement.
